Chapter 13: A Friend's Gift
Nekrozoa and Blue looked at the Robos around them. The only chance of escape was in a hole in the mob, which was blocked by Virus -who was aiming weapons at Nekrozoa and Blue- and AppleCore. Besides, Nekrozoa didn't plan on leaving the others in the clutches of those Robos.
Virus spoke up, still pointing his handguns at Nekrozoa and Blue. "You all should be proud of yourselves. You guys are the first ones to get me personally involved here. Everyone else was willing to just go with the flow."
"What do you mean 'go with the flow'?" Blue said angrily. He started to step at Virus, but the click of the Robos' rifles made him stop.
"Oh, you guys are the last ones to deal with." Virus retorted.
Both Nekrozoa and Blue looked on with shock. "Are you saying what I think you're saying?!" Nekrozoa asked desperately.
"I think so, yes."
"Everyone is-?"
"Everyone... except you guys. Even the citizens have all fallen. Oh, before I forget..."
Virus moved his arms slightly to the side. Two lasers shot from the weapons and tagged Nekrozoa's box under his arm. The first shot dented the box and made Nekrozoa drop it to the ground. The second left a fist-sized hole through the entire frame. Virus shot the box two more times and the cure seeped through the bottom and the sides of the destroyed carrier.
Blue and Nekrozoa looked down at the mangled box in utter horror. Blue finally gritted his teeth and looked at Virus, who had its guns lowered and looked on pompously. Blue couldn't hold back his anger anymore.
"You asshole!" he screamed and jumped at Virus in a fury. Two Robos intercepted him and held him back as he clawed and hissed at the unmoving and untouched Virus. Virus held a smirk and looked Blue in the eyes as he screamed slurs and threats such as "Die, you son of a bitch!" or "I'll kill you with my bare hands!" and many others.
Virus stepped back and still held that look on its face. He started to mock Blue with a monolouge.
"Oh, Blue... dear Blue... once we were allies, and now you want to tear me apart limb-from-limb. It's a shame that we had to end it this way, but I knew none of you, especially Balto, would allow the Virus Empire to take over. Besides, that mutt was so trusting and naive... sneaking the zombie virus in those drinks was almost too easy for me."
At the mention of this, Blue clawed and swung his fists even more viciously. The Robos were starting to have trouble holding him back. Nekrozoa, who was hidden behind the Robos holding Blue, looked depressed and simply stared at the ground, seeing the Robos' shifting feet as they kept Blue from attacking Virus.
"Well, I must make my leave, now," Virus continued. "Minions! Once AppleCore and I make it back to the ship, you make shoot to kill." After Virus gave its order, the robotic and unsynced voices saying "Yes, General." sounded through the air.
As Nekrozoa stared at the ground, a voice nagged him in the back of his head. The first time he couldn't understand it, but it immediately got him to raise his head. The voice sounded again, this time louder. Nekrozoa knew it was McJesus's voice. It sounded a third time.
"
Use the glove."
Nekrozoa looked down and suddenly remembered he still had his ammo belt. He also remembered what was in that giant pocket. Virus and AppleCore started walking back to the landed craft when Nekrozoa pulled out that golden glove with the belt. As Blue was pushed back next to Nekrozoa, Nekrozoa slipped the glove onto his right hand. With the left hand, he grabbed the belt and tightened it on his right hand. Blue looked at him in wonder as Nekrozoa held the glove in the air and flexed his fingers.
Nekrozoa looked with a confident smile at the Robos in front of him. He whispered to Blue. "Duck."
Blue looked to wonder at what Nekrozoa was asking for, but didn't need any more explination. He kneeled over and clutched his head. Nekrozoa brought the gloved hand back across his chest and swung it around his body.
Four Robos were smacked in the chest and fell over to the ground. The Robo that once held Yacazuma to the ground started to grab for Nekrozoa when he fired something out of the glove, but it wasn't auras. That green gas-lightning combonation shot out of Nekrozoa's palm and darted into the Robo's head. The Robo froze in its tracks. Its head rattled like a tin can and sparks flew up as its brain exploded.
Yacazuma quickly grabbed his sword and jumped to his feet.
"Damn straight. It's ass-whoopin' time."
Nekrozoa shot those plasma projectiles at the heads of Robos holding down his teammates. Soon, Nekrozoa, Blue, Yacazuma, John, and Zylix were blasting away at Robos grabbing for them. The air around them soon filled with the sounds of energy rays, and explosions.
Virus turned quickly at the noise. Its face grew tense and angry. "Forget my last order!" Virus screamed. "Shoot them now! Kill them all!"
Nekrozoa, who was happily blasting away at Robos, looked to see Virus scurry with its four legs to the ship with AppleCore following at a jogging pace. Nekrozoa blasted two more Robos and jumped out in the open. He started to run after Virus and AppleCore and screamed back at the Brawlers.
"I've got this asshole! You guys hang tight! Make sure Ruby and Chip are okay!" Nekrozoa looked back at the fleeing duo and started to dash as fast as he could after them.
Virus scurried up onto the ramp and headed for the door. AppleCore was following Virus immediately and Nekrozoa was only feet from the ramp's base. Virus and AppleCore stepped into the ship and were standing in the doorway. In a last-ditch attempt, Nekrozoa leaped forward and grabbed onto the ramp as hard as he could with the gloved hand. Virus pushed a button from the lighted interior of the ship that made the ramp rocket back to its resting place. Nekrozoa, with the help of the glove, latched on to the ramp as it jetted to the interior of the ship.
Once the ramp made it to the door way, Nekrozoa flipped off and flew into the ship's entrance, smacking his back loudly on to one of the walls. Nekrozoa slumped down the floor as the ship started to fly off with that rumbling noise.
Nekrozoa open his eyes from the floor to see Virus pointing its two weapons at Nekrozoa's face. Nekrozoa rolled to the side of this circular hallway as Virus shot the two blasters at the ground where Nekrozoa's head once rested. Out of danger, Nekrozoa pushed himself up with his hands and got to his feet. He and Virus stared each other down in a western-moive-like fashion. They stood in a curved, black hall lit with only the green lights that adorned Virus's face.
"Abandoning your team, now?" Virus smirked. "Shows what a team player you are."
Nekrozoa continued staring. "They can take care of themselves. I'm just here to make sure you don't get through this alive."
AppleCore, who was standing behind Virus with that typical angry face, started to step towards Nekrozoa when Virus called him off.
"No, my friend. Thank you, but you've done enough for me. This one's mine..."
