While ranking users on their own improvement is a good idea, I doubt we'll have enough votes for each and every month. Hell, before Psi's ranking of Shackles, it had been nearly 3 months since so much as a POST had occurred.

Thats why you send out mass pms to tell everyone that theres a new vote starting soon. it'll remind everyone to cast their vote.

That or A: people didn't notice that someone wanted to be rated or B: the thread was covered up by some other thread being bumbed by some new art. You never really know, maybe they'll vote more if someone reminds them. The voting days wont just count the few who want to be rated. but every active person on the forum.

All I'm saying is that people get mad when they are low and not high because of this reason and this other reason and others don't agree.
Because of that, this thread has been one of the top reasons why everyone rages on spb.
And now that its ignored, everything seemed more peaceful.
I don't like the listing of who's the top and who's the lowest, because we'll start the whole shitbang again.
I'm still with just the pros and cons idea.
Destructin: description (ex: Has a very detailed art style) Pros ( the detail is great, has some good anatomy, etc) Cons (sometimes his drawings are rushed and lack background detail and etc.)

@ Zarth: You get points because your idea would (theoretically) keep the tiers current, but other than that, I'm not so crazy on it. It feels like a bit too much time/energy wasted on tiers. It shouldn't be so complicated, we really don't need a new section and stuff for this IMO. @ Destructin: Pros and cons? I actually really dig this. Technically not even tiers, really. No levels, just discussion on certain folks' artistic ability, which would in turn inspire them to get better. Criticism is a good thing. PLUS people get judged on their own merit, not being dissed just because they aren't the new McJesus or whatever. I say lock this thread, unsticky it, and let it fade into obscurity whilst giving the Pros & Cons Thread (or whatever we call it) a chance at life. The whole idea of artist tier rankings need to be punched in the face, kicked into the gutter, curb stomped, then kicked in the head for good measure. It needs to die. I am 100% for locking and deleting this thread. Why delete it? It's almost like this thread is highly offensive to you somehow. I think tiers can be useful. Like encouraging users to improve their art, like any good artist should do. Now, you could say "But people in MoAT don't really have any inclination to improve!", which is why I like Destructin's idea. (See above) Note: This opinion may seem slightly biased, as I really really hate deleting threads.

Alright, in an effort to minimize meaningless posts, this topic will remain open for 48 more hours. In this time, you may post ONLY to suggest a plan for the revision of artist rankings. Discussion of said plans will be handled after the 48 hour mark in a new thread, in which we will vote on what to do.
(Zarth and Des need not repost their plans)

thumbs to pros and cons, this will help people what to improve on and motivate them at the same time.
we'll just need to give each user a spoiler tag

Go with des's idea.
or maybe make a mixture of mine and his.
every first day of the month we have a discussion of the pros and cons of ones art and how to improove it.

Do pros and cons, but if people really want a tier ranking or even just a ranking out of 100 they can. Like only if someone requests it.

I just really dislike the Tier Rankings for the same reason as what Destructin said.
