i like how zarth posted ALL THE DETAILS ON THE OPTIONS.
instead of just putting the GRENADES option he had to put it ALL THE OPTIONS, making it look like there's more to grenades then there is
heck he probably just thought those were separate options, i mean if you toned it down a bit it's not even that much customization Holy hell MVG just shut the fuck up.

just finished the campaign. it was.. underwhelming. gameplay is tighter, but the story, characters, atmosphere.. it wasn't there. that's what halo was about. not to mention the continual nods to halo 1, 2, 3 and even ODST. i don't know whether to call it a rehash or going back to it's roots.

I just finished the campaign as well. Quite fun. Seemed like they cranked up the difficulty a bit, so there were plenty of "OH, fuck OFF!"s to match up with my "HELL YEAH, SHIT IS SICK"s. And Elites are tough as hell now. Also, go screw yourself Fuel Rod Gun. You can kiss my grits.
That said, someone needs to team up with me so we can crank through some Legendary co-op.

I could probably do it with you Sunday, if you're still up for it. I'm doing something all day tomorrow and you probably aren't going to be online to see this any time tonight

I'll team up with you, no one I know what's to play legendary. Anyways, the campaign was so fun Here's how I feel about the deaths Jorge: Very noble and dramatic, but it felt like the end of Halo wars. Kat: That was so terrible, just one shot penentrated shields AND armor, she didn't even have a few last words before she bled out. Jun: Wait, did Jun even die? Carter: Very badass, he's pretty calm too, "Carter Out" and then he crashes into a scarab. Emile: He was pretty awesome, just fighting off elite left and right, but finally dying out Noble 6: Felt a bit similar to Emile's death but still pretty fun, the entire Lone Wolf level just expressed the desprete situation that Reach was, and was a great way to end the story.
The only downside of the story is that it felt a bit off-paced, the story didn't even start to build until Tip of the Spear/Long Night of Solace.

I think Jorge was killed in that, didn't the Corvette teleport to a giant cruiser that then exploded?
And I hope the first 343 halo game features Jun in some way, he was my favorite character.

the point of the teleporting was because it wouldnt be big enough for the cruiser, which is why it blow'd up. the question is, where did the rest of it teleport? you definately see a big chunk of ship missing when it happens..

The nuclear blast that happened near noble team nocked out ALL their shields. they did not recharge untill after she was head shotted.
Also, Jun did die. in the book First strike, It says that Halsey's guardian spartan that was with her as they traveled to CASTLE BASE was killed trying to protect her. Jun was that spartan.

So I finally caved in and bought it. Turns out I am the biggest Halo fan out of all my roommates and pseudo-roommates. Anyways, we got halfway through the second level before something happened with a circuit breaker and the whole system just shut down. It's fine, though; I needed some sleep anyways.

I was really expecting the characters backrounds and story shown in the intel page on Bungie.net to have relvenance, I heard Emile carried a lot of Covenent Contraban, you never see him use any.

Got around to beating this last night. Good game, thought I'm gonna have to go back though and beat it again cause I missed some of the dialogue. I honestly wasn't terribly attached to Kat, but still, her dying like that was total bullshit. I honestly didn't think about Jorge teleporting rather than dying, but I think he had his helmet off when he set off the device, so space might have killed him regardless. Anyways, I thought he had a pretty cool death, even though he was the character I was most attached to at the time. Carter's death was kinda the same way, but I was sad that I wasn't able to ramp a mongoose up onto a scarab and blow it to hell like Master Chief. Emile's death pissed me off for the half second where I thought he just took it like a bitch, but then he grabbed the elite that stabbed him and killed him in one fucking punch and I was happy. I think they could have pulled off that scene a little better, though; Emile dying almost made it so that the Pillar couldn't take off, and I didn't really feel that tension.
Speaking of the Pillar, I liked how the ending (pre-Lone Wolf) was the beginning of the original Halo, especially because we got to see the Pillar of Autumn in glorious HD. SO. PRETTY. Probably gonna look for the data pads next, as the guy I was playing with showed an interest in finding them. I might even try to do it without a guide; I found the first one on accident, and I still feel kind of guilty for looking up the skull locations in Halo 3 when I had guessed most of them and even picked up a couple on my own.

There has been tlak on the B. net forum of people thinking that if you find all the data pads, flip all the switches, and kill all the BOB that it wil unluck the legendary ending some how.
BTw. have any of you played Reach racer yet?
