You know what? screw the items, keep it the way it is. it'll be to difficult and worthless to do it for a forum. If you guys want to make some sort of items for this site. make the game and put the whole items idea IN the game.

Zarth, what you're suggesting is that we eliminate Brawl Mart entirely, because there is no way in hell I am forcing the mods to do tedious bullshit like transferring funds when I have the ability to work around it. I really only put up with the current incarnation of Brawl Mart because there is no better way to do it.

Honestly making a brawl store wouldn't be TOO hard.
It would just transfer to your account and take away brawlios.
To be honest though and it would be alot of work and I don't even know that I'm up for it, but we should make a forum from scratch, and specifically for what the forum is for that would be a good idea, since then we could implement features no forum would allow since it's unconventional.
Then we could connect brawlios to user accounts and let people have their own profiles that are more customisable and stuff.
I don't want to say we should do it and then me do all the work though, since I've never made a forum, and I don't even know if I can.
If only this happened during the summer, but now I've got school and work.

we should make a forum from scratch ...you didn't get the memo, did you? THIS WAS THE SECRET PLAN ALL ALONG! Also an old buddy of mine (actually the guy who ran the first site I modded at) made a custom forum once, so worst case I ask him for a hand.

Okay, it's a small milestone, but Des and MVG helped cook up an image for the 404 error page for us. Check it out by trying to access this page that doesn't actually exist. Note: a lot of search toolbars (yahoo and google toolbars for sure, probably more) will automatically send you to their search pages upon getting a 404. If that's the case, you can either disable the toolbar momentarily or just look at the image here. In addition, if you click on the image on the under construction page, it now links back to the proboards site. Both minor changes, but this officially kicks off me working on the site.

If we made our own forum we'd need alot of storage, and I dunno how much snake has.

what about bandwidth?

Honestly bandwith isn't a problem with our site's size. If we ever get enough people for it to be a problem we could always just upgrade.

While mentell's right that it probably doesn't matter I also have unlimited bandwidth. As a result I may eventually put ads on the site to cover the cost to me, but that's a bridge we'll cross when we come to it.

Because this time it actually looks legit, I would like to help out with making this site. I'm not skilled in CSS, but I could arse myself to draw something if it's needed. I want to be a part of this.

Well, at the moment we could use some designs for the navigation buttons. We haven't finalised what buttons will actually appear on the site, so we're just looking for a template at the moment. Unfortunately, I don't really have any ideas on what might look good aside from the fact that I think we should stick with the pixely theme. Buttons should be no more than 70px tall (I could give you a few pixels if it's absolutely essential to the design). Currently they will be on a gray background (hex color #666666), but this may change, so keep anything that would be that color transparent (note: if you don't have a program that can do png transparency, just note what parts would be transparent and I'll take care of it.

I'M JUST EXPLORING OPTIONS GUYS GEEZ I THOUGHT WE DISCUSSED WE WERE GONNA HAVE AN OPEN RELATIONSHIP.
Also if you've already made buttons post 'em.
Reason for Editing: I was really tired when I typed that so I made a typo that might actually detract from the meaning.

I'd like kinda brighter colors personally, but that's just me and I definitely like the way you handled the different shades. Here's my buttons anyway. (This was when I thought we'd go for a more paint-like design than a pixel one, they're supposed to be paint splotches)

they're very nice buttons and all grim but the problem of shade on color is depending on the monitor brightness (like mine) it's very hard to read

actually it's how you should do it, it'll save space and bandwidth
take mvg's buttons, cut them into three sections, each as small as possible: a left side, a right side, and a single pixel wide midle (unless there's a non-recurring pattern, of course). set the images as the background in a fashion that it makes it look like they're single images, but they're not. I did my website that way and it looks fine.
hell, you could even make coloured themes and all that are either randomly chosen or that the end user can cycle through.

Tiny button bar is annoying to try to read. D: actually it's how you should do it, it'll save space and bandwidth Grent specifically said he has unlimited bandwidth. ...and space for that matter. Also I can't help but feel a lot of your comments go beyond typical criticism.
