So this is a story about if the Grandkade Empire (Zarth's Empire) successfully took over Brawl city.
I know this chapter is kind of short, I'll Make up for in the next chapter which i'm already woking on.
Written be me Edited by Grim.
This Chapter takes place just as the war started to come to an end. Enjoy.
Prologue: A Blazing End
All of Brawl City was set ablaze; The once pure white sky now blanketed in the thick black smoke that rose from the city itself. Almost every building had been torn apart, reduced to rubble, or was slowly collapsing under its own weight. The windows had either shattered or melted from the intense heat from the flames around them. Roads were torn up, exposing the soft, moist soil underneath. Debris from buildings was littered all over the city streets, some so large that it crushed abandoned civilian vehicles. Cascading from damaged water mains was murky, black water. It flooded certain parts of the streets, inundating main highway areas and some small structures. Lifeless, mangled bodies of all genders and ages were littered throughout the city.
In the eastern district of the city was Gunsmith, Snakekull and Grimscott. Each of them was injured and exhausted from previous fights, but continued to lead a small group of twenty three civilians through some collapsed apartments, attempting to stay out of sight as much as they possibly could. The place was mainly made up of bent metal and cold, clean water from busted pipes dripped through the apartments, creating a rather unsettling feeling as if they were being watched. The sounds of faint gunshots and explosives echoed all around them. Bright beams of light peered through small exposed holes above them, shedding a small amount of light along their path. They stumbled around sharp metal and other debris until Snake spotted a clear area for them to rest.
“Over there!” he exclaimed as he pointed in the direction of the small area.
“We can take a breather over there.” Gunsmith and Grimscott both looked over to where he was pointing and nodded their heads in agreement. Gunsmith turned around to face the civilians.
“Alright everyone, we're going to take a break over there.” Gunsmith said as he pointed over to the clear area as well. “It won’t be for long though, we have to keep moving until we reach the bunker.” He finished his announcement and began to walk through the debris to reach the clear area and the others followed him.
The civilians all sat down in a small cluster and it only took a moment before a quiet conversation began. While Snake and Grim decided to patrol the area for any hints of danger, Gunsmith chose to stay with the group, gripping his favored pistol in his right hand.
Suddenly a rumbling sound echoed. As it slowly passed over their heads, bits of dust and loose shards of metal rained down in small plumes. Both the civilians and the Brawlers stared up to the small holes to the sky, hoping that they weren’t spotted. The small conversation the civilians went dead quiet. As the rumbling sound faded away, Grimscott let out a deep sigh of relief, fixing her top hat and looking over to Snakeskull hopefully. They both continued their patrol around the area, spanning out from the rest of the group and heading for the edge of the apartments walls. Grimmy, still hidden within the apartments, peered out at the street they were on. The place was deserted except for a few rats, lifeless bodies, and some abandoned, damaged cars.
Off in the distance, a squad of soldiers wearing pitch black armor came into view; They were walking down a street that lead to Grim and Snake's position, but hadn’t noticed the Brawlers yet. Their helmets covered their entire faces: Blue visors placed over their eyes, and what looked like small vents around their mouths were connected with small tubes that wrapped around to the back of their neck, to a small device to filter out any toxins that in the air. Their armor covered every inch on their body, excluding their joints which were protected by a strong, flexible black fiber. On the soldiers' left shoulder pads, a small grey symbol with the letters OMNI Inc. was visible. Snakeskull was the first to notice the symbol; He smiled and cautiously ran out of the apartments to meet them.
“Hey, over here!” Snakeskull beckoned to them as he ran in their direction. Startled, the soldiers raised their OMNI Inc. standard issued rifles at Snakeskull. But the squad leader raised his hand and told the others to hold their fire. They complied by lowering their weapons. Snakeskull slowed his pace as he closed in on the group.
“What is it, Snakeskull?” the lead soldier asked as Snake stopped in front of him.
“Am I glad to see you guys! We’ve been on the run for hours now. We have some civilians in those apartments over there,” Snakeskull said as he pointed back towards the apartments, “We need to get them to the evac bunker to the north, could you help us out?” he asked, hoping for a positive reply. The lead soldier turned around to face his men to discuss the issue, as Grimscott walked up beside Snakeskull and waited along with him.
Gunsmith was growing impatient as he waited for Snake and Grim to return. He scanned his surroundings and loaded a new magazine into his pistol, sitting on some flattened rubble and keeping an eye on the civilians, he drifted away into his own thoughts. Abruptly, the sound of something slithering around in an upper level could be heard through the destroyed apartments, along with the sound of bending metal and rubble re-settling to adjust to the shift in weight.
Gunsmith immediately stood up to the sound, watching the area above him as a large shadow shifted around. He cocked his pistol and aimed upwards, but the shadow disappeared. A hunk of metal slowly hung down behind Gunsmith, hardly making any sound at all. But he sensed that there was something right behind him, freezing for a second so as not to alert his stalker. Without warning, he rolled forward and quickly spun around to face the thing behind him. The light that was attached to his pistol revealed who was creeping in the dark; It was none other than Wires!
“Damn it, Wires, you scared me!” The alarmed gunman couldn't help but relax a bit, as he lowered his pistol and stood back up on his feet. Wires simply cocked his head to the statement.
“So, how is it going out there, any news on the others?” Gunsmith asked as approached Wires. The civilians all looked to the machine for the same reply. Wires lowered his head and gave out a soft sound of static to reply to his question. Even though one cannot fully understand what Wires is actually saying, the static and buzzes he lets out for communication are more felt then heard.
“I see. . .what about us? Are we safe here?” Gunsmith asked, hoping Wires would say yes.
Wires shook his head and gave out a more aggressive screech, pointing to the west with some of his larger wires.
“Shit. . .really?!” Gunsmith questioned again just to be sure, but before Wires could reply, the sound of repetitive loud thumps shook the ground, growing louder as they closed in on the survivors' position.
“Damn it, Grimmy and Snake are still out there! Wires, stay with the civvies, I have to get the others back in before it’s too late!” Gunsmith ran off in the direction the two Brawlers had gone, ignoring the sharp objects within the broken apartments and he bursting out of the apartments.
“Guys! Get back inside, they’re coming!” Gunsmith yelled out to the others, catching Snake's and Grim's attention along with the OMNI Inc. solders. But before they could react, a massive robotic walker appeared, bringing down a neighboring crumbling apartment that had been on its last legs.
The mech stood sixty five feet tall. The cockpit was shaped like a flattened diamond, polished to the point where any light reflected from its metal exterior, with the cockpit area itself shielded by a red tinted glass-like frame. Powerful spotlights along the front locked onto the Brawlers and OMNI Inc. soldiers, as six bright red optics were both sides of the glass frame adjusted to focus on each person. A missile pod attached to its back quickly popped up and locked onto Gunsmith's position, while two large revolving coils attached to its sides began to spin. A dull red light emitted from the center, then went from yellow to an extremely hot white. The large, metallic legs started to slowly move again, heading towards them and picking up speed with every passing second.
“Everyone, run!” Gunsmith yelled as he ran past them and down the road the OMNI Inc. soldiers came from. The others joined him in his escape. As a burst of missiles exploded out of the missile pod and struck the ground behind them, the pressure from the blast caused them all to lose their balance and fall onto the broken road. Gunsmith turned over to his back and pointed his pistol at the cockpit of the mech, firing multiple rounds that simply ended up bouncing off.
“On your feet, men,” The lead OMNI Inc. soldier ordered, “Aim for its legs, fire at will!” he yelled out as the other soldiers all rose to their feet and began to fire on the mech's legs, hoping that it would slow it down. The bullets pelting its mechanical joints, doing little to no damage at all. The two coils aimed for the soldiers and released a spray of white energy bolts, and the soldiers screamed from the pain as the bolts ripped through their bodies like butter. Plumes of dust were kicked up by each and every impact from the energy bolts.
“My god. . .” Snakeskull said to himself, shocked at what he had just witnessed. Gunsmith stumbled to his feet and ran over to Snake.
“Snap out of it! If we don’t move, then we’ll just end up like them!” Gunsmith said as he shook Snakeskull around.
“Okay okay, I'm fine now, just stop shaking me!” Snakeskull groaned at Gunsmith.
“Oy, fellas? Yeah, it's kind of heading straight toward us!” Grimmy alerted them, her voice tinged with fear. She wanted to run, but wouldn’t leave the others behind. Gunsmith looked over to the machine as it locked its optics on them.
“Move, now!” Gunsmith ordered as they continued to run down the street again, the other two Brawlers just a few feet behind him. The mech slowly began to gain on them, its metallic feet digging up the broken road. Then, Wires swung across the buildings along the streets and followed the mech. He quickly launched himself towards the mech's backside, his long wires wrapping around its metallic exterior. As the one operating the mech noticed Wires, the mech halted its pursuit and attempted to shake off Wires, but to no avail. Gunsmith and the others stopped to see what was going on. Grimscott couldn't help but smile as she watched Wires torment the machine.
Wires gave out several loud angry screeches as he began to thrust his larger wires through the mech, destroying its components within. Sparks flew out and small flames began to erupt in areas such as like both of its machine guns and around the lights on its front. The mech's movements began to go limp as the operator within lost control of the machine. Wires slithered to the front of the mech and covered the red tinted glass shield. He began to repeatedly stab his wires through the shield, attempting to kill the operator. After a moment the mech lost all power and fell to the ground. As thick dark blue liquids from within the newly exposed interior began to leak out, Wires hopped off the machine and slithered his way over to the others.
“Ha ha! Nice work there, Wires!” Grimscott praised Wires as she slapped him on the back.
“Yeah, thanks man, you saved our asses.” Gunsmith added as he holstered his pistol.
“I thought we were goners for a second there!” Snake added as he walked over to Wires. Wires gave out a friendly buzz as he rubbed his head, as if he were embarrassed. “I guess we should go back and get the civilians, huh?” Gunsmith asked the others.
“Heh heh. . yeah, we can’t just leave them in that place.” Snake replied. As they began to walk back to the destroyed apartments, they passed by the mangled bodies of the OMNI Inc. soldiers. Snake, Gunsmith and Grimscott tried to not look at the morbid scene; They all felt slightly depressed that they couldn’t save them. Once they reached the outside of the apartments, they spotted Swordkill wandering around the intersection right beside the apartments, seeming quite worried.
“Heeeey Swordkilla!" Snake yelled out to catch his attention. Swordkill quickly turned to face the one who yelled out his name. He smiled when he saw the four Brawlers walking towards him. He ran to their position, waving his hands to show that he was glad to see them when a sharp stream of bright red light passed right through his skull.
Swordkill hit the ground with a thump; A small pool of blood began to ooze out around his head.
“Shit, Swordkill!" Snakeskull yelled out in terror as he ran towards his body. Gunsmith immediately created a high-powered sniper rifle and tracked where the shot came from, spotting a soldier in dark red armor hiding within a large building down the street they were on. Gunsmith quickly aimed for his head and picked him off before the soldier could react. He then dropped the rifle and ran toward Swordkill'. Grimscott stood there in shock, both her hands covering her mouth as she had just witnessed one of her friends die right in front of her. Wires just sat there beside Grim, trying to comfort her.
Snakeskull slid to his knees so he could stop right over swordkills' body; He turned him over to his back, his black hair and bandana stained from his blood, his blank lifeless eyes rolled around from the sudden movement.
“No. . .no. . .no. . .Get up. . .Get up. Swordkilla, don’t die on me!” Snake pleaded as he shook the body.
Gunsmith slowly stepped over Snakeskull, he looked at swordkill's body. Shaking his own head, he placed his left hand on Snake's shoulder.
“He’s gone. . .Snake. . .” Gunsmith said softly, as he held back his own tears back. Snakeskull let go of Swordkills' body and just sat there, motionless.
The dark clouds of smoke around the city began to part irregularly, as hundreds of large spaceships entered a low orbit around the city. Large spotlights on the ships' hulls began to shine on different parts of the city, one of which shined on the Brawlers' position. A moment later a loud announcement echoed out of each of the ships.
“People of Brawl City, you have two choices: Surrender. . .or die a horrable flaming death. You have two hours to comply. If I were you, I’d surrender. Heh.” The announcement was stated in a joking manner, as if the ones who attacked Brawl City were toying with them.

I know this chapter is kind of short Actually, this is a wonderful length. You don't want to make things too long or else people won't want to read it (trust me, I've learned this the hard way). I like it so far. I don't know about the other characters, but you captured Gunsmith pretty spot-on. Nice work! Also HOLY SHIT DEATH. Genuinely surprised me. Even made up for (the character) showing up out of nowhere for no apparent reason.

Heres the next chapter, it's a little longer then the first, about two pages more.
Again, thanks for editing, Grim.
Chapter 1: A Time of Exile
Five years have passed since the invasion; Most of the fighting had ended. The surviving citizens of Brawl City reluctantly accepted the new system of government and all its cultures into their home. Most of Brawl City had still been left in ruin. Areas such as the central district, the wharf, and the east districts were reduced to slum-like areas. Everything was in disrepair; Mold and rodents infected almost every building, including what was left of the Really Really Tall Tower. The massive highways that connected each district were reduced to a pile of rubble, and only small islands that were held up by their support pillars still stood proud. But even those were slowly eroding away from the elements. The water around these districts slowly transformed into a stale brown muck filled with garbage over the years. Different scavenger type birds commonly flocked to feed here.
Along the streets of these areas, hundreds of poor, forgotten survivors of the war were left to survive in the wasteland that they used to call home. Most of them dressed in nothing more than rags. They huddled around barrels that had fires lit within, trying to keep warm while some others attempted to start up some sort of market by setting up small makeshift stands, selling a small assortment of food for the public. Gk soldiers patrolled these areas every so often, sometimes harassing the citizens on their route.
In the west, south district and beyond, a large metropolis consisted of massive metallic buildings that towered over Old Brawl City (O.B.C). Hovering vehicles zigzagged between the buildings, clogging the skies. Streams of cars spanned out from the city in an almost web-like formation, heading in every direction. Along walkways that connected nearly every building on almost every level were herds of people that were a mix of Brawl City natives and other citizens that have been a part of the Grandkade Empire for ages. This large area was respectfully named New Brawl City. (N.B.C)
Deep in N.B.C, in a large oval-shaped urban area, high above the ground, was a park consisting of a few trees and two large fields of grass that were separated by a wavy walkway. This place is populated with mostly young adults and children, all of which were enjoying the nice day, and all of which were ignorant of the horrific past. A small coffee shop was stationed to the east of this vicinity, having a small section surrounded by a three foot fence, containing five small tables. Above the tables a dark red canopy was bolstered over the fenced-in area, blocking the sun and anything else from the sky, ensuring that the customers could have a peaceful drink. Along the sides of the coffee shop were two long lines of black-tinted, one way windows, to ensure privacy within the coffee shop.
On the roof of the shop was a large sign reading “Ruby's Café” with a picture of a bright red ruby between the “s” and the “C” . Inside, the place was rather well designed: Sleek, dark, wooden planks formed a pattern of different, yet matching, shades of browns on the floor. The walls were a dark ruby red, with paintings of famous artists hung on the walls to give the place a more artistic feeling, while a holographic stand center of the room emitted advertisements of special drinks they were selling in the shop. Multiple wooden tables were placed along the windows, each of them occupied by different citizens talking to one another about their lives.
Along the work counter were multiple simple coffee-making machines facing away from the main lobby area. Ruby and another woman worked at making drinks for their customers, both girls wearing a red apron with the coffee shop's name knitted into their upper left area. Above their heads, three see-through glass screens had a large menu of different drinks to order from. A long line had formed in front of the work counter, each citizen waiting to place an order for the shop's special Ruby Espresso. Ruby shifted around from machine to machine, preparing multiple drinks at a time.
“Your drinks are coming up soon guys, don’t be so restless!” Ruby said with a smile as she kept her eyes trained on the drink-mixing machine. Suddenly, a high-pitched beeping sound emitted as the door swung open, catching Ruby's attention for a brief second.
A man walked in, wearing a black tuque with a red and orange stripe across it, and looked straight at Ruby. He had on a worn out heavy black jacket, black saggy jeans that had seen better days, a scruffy pair of steel toed boots, and a pair of sunglasses were slightly tilted towards his nose. The man nodded his head towards the door, signaling Ruby to meet with him outside. Ruby replied by giving a slight nod, finishing up the last of the orders and turning to her coworker.
“Okay, I’m going on my lunch break now. I’ll see you in a bit!” She stated happily as she untied her apron and walked around the work counter to head outside.
“Alright, see you later, Ruby.” Her co-worker replied as she started a new drink for a customer.
The man let Ruby exit first, following her to a pair of benches facing one another in the park. Ruby then reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, blue cell phone-like device; A small touch pad screen lit up and a second later, two happy yellow sprites entered the screen to greet the user. The man watched Ruby fiddle around with the device as he walked alongside her. He shook his head in disgust.
“I can’t believe you’re actually using their technology. . .” He said in disapproval, looking away just before Ruby looked up at him.
“Well, we have to fit in some way don’t we? If we don’t, then-“ Ruby was quickly cut off by the man.
“Yeah, I know. Don’t remind me. . .” He said as he fixed his glasses to cover his eyes.
Both Ruby and the man sat on the benches adjacent from one another. The man laid back and stretched his arms over the ledge of the bench while Ruby sat on the other, hunched over slightly as she began to type things out into her cellular device. The man just watched her as she focused all her attention on the small contraption. A moment later, the man sat up straight, reached into his right jacket pocket and pulled out a thin, long, oval-shaped silver container. It was slightly dirty and worn out due to continuous use. The letters “McJ” were engraved and roughly painted a gold color. He popped the case open to reveal a silver lighter that had a small burn stain around the tip of it, and six cigarettes neatly lined up beside the lighter. He took out the lighter and one of the cigarettes, closed the case and placed it back in his pocket. He stuck the cigarette in his mouth and proceeded to light it. After a few clicks, the light sparked to life and lit the tip of the cigarette. He pulled it out of his mouth after a few puffs and leaned over slightly to talk to Ruby.
“So. . .How has your life been, Ruby? I haven’t really spoken to you in months. . .” He asked, waiting for her to put down her cell phone and reply to his question. Ruby suddenly stopped typing and placed the cell phone to her side and looked up to the man, leaning back and placing her hands in her lap.
“Eh. . .it’s been alright. As you know, I managed to get my own coffee shop. Oh and I recently went back to school. I joined this academy that opened up a few months back. Their schools don’t run the same way as ours used too. . .it’s. . .different. . .” She explained, looking down at her hands and twiddling her thumbs, sounding a little unsure about the whole thing. “Bah, I’ll get use to it sooner or later, heh!” She said, reassuring herself.
The man raised an eyebrow at her story, then leaned back with a smirk and said “You hate, don’t you? You hate all of it?” He asked, knowing what her reply was going to be.
“Oh god, yes!” She admitted. “I hate having to act so civil now. Wearing this uniform, and working for all those people in that café. What I wouldn’t give to run around without shoes again. . .but I can’t. Not when there are eyes around every corner.” She complained, clutching her hands together in anger.
“Well, you could always come to Old Brawl City. . .” He mentioned as he placed the cigarette back in his mouth.
“I would. . .but the thought of being hunted down day and night by those people. . .I don’t think I could stand it.” She replied with a depressing tone in her voice. “What about you? How are you holding up down there?” Ruby asked, curious about if his life was any better.
“Ugh, not so good. . .I mean look at me. I look like a hobo. . .Heck, I had to wrap my halo in a garbage bag so that the light from it wouldn’t emit out of my tuque.“ He grumbled, rubbing his eyes in embarrassment.
“Ha-ha, poor McJ.” Ruby laughed, covering her mouth with her right hand.
“It’s not funny! It’s so uncomfortable, having hiding like this.” He explained. Then suddenly, almost out of nowhere, a massive battleship appeared over the city, blocking out the sunlight as it slowly drifted past.
“Well I guess I should go now, I’ve spent a little too much time in this place. And you should get back to Old Brawl City. I’ll see you around, Ruby.” McJesus said as he stood up, “If you ever change your mind and decide to come back, you know where we’ll be.” He said, turning around and beginning to walk off to a small parking lot south of their location.
“Bye. McJesus. . .” Ruby whispered. She sat there for a second as she watched him leave before checking her phone for the time; Her lunch break was over. Ruby quickly switched it off and placed it in her pocket, hurrying back to the café.
As McJesus walked between a row of cars and headed for a pathway that connected to another park, he noticed a large, green vehicle that looked much like a minivan, but sleeker. It hovered down by the pathway and followed McJesus, until one of the doors facing the walkway popped open; Two teenagers in white hoodies sat inside, while another person drove the vehicle, with only a silhouette to be seen. McJesus stopped to look at the people in the vehicle, slightly confused, then took two steps back to give himself a little breathing room. The two teens in the vehicle looked down both ends of the pathway to make sure the area was clear before speaking.
“McJesus, get in, it’s important! Something happened to Angelface.” One of the teenagers said. He had bright blue, icy eyes that seemed to fixate on McJesus.
“W-What? What happened to her?” McJesus blurted out, his eyes wide.
“We can’t tell you here, it’s not safe.” The hooded teen replied. McJesus grabbed the sides of the vehicle and pulled himself in. The teen slid the door shut once McJesus was inside. The vehicle hummed back to life and drove off.
The two teens pulled down their hoods to reveal Permafrost and Pulse. Even though Permafrost wore a hood, he still insisted on wearing his favorite blue tuque and scarf. The large crystal on his head reflected the light from the sun as it shined through the vehicle's windows. He sat upright, behind the driver's seat, with his legs crossed and his hands in the pouch of the hoodie that he wore. Pulse sat behind the other seat, laid back, his black grey eyes fixed on the back window.
The driver finally spoke, somehow no longer appearing in shadow. “I’m glad we finally found you, McJesus," he started, "I was beginning to get a little worried for a second there. If you hadn’t already guessed, I’m Doctor Dark.” He said as he kept his eyes on the road.
“What happened to Angelface?” McJesus demanded, getting straight to the point.
“Alright, we’ll just skip the introduction then.” Dr. Dark replied. “A few days ago, one of our hideouts where Angelface, your daughter, Cobb, and Glace were stationed at was discovered. It immediately came under siege, and at least five squads of Grandkade soldiers, with five unmanned Spear tanks surrounded the area. They firef canisters of poison into the hideout, completely catching our friends by surprise. They had no other choice but to head deeper underground, into a large networks of tunnels. Unfortunately, Angelface was severely affected by the poison. I don't really know why or how. But she collapsed about ten minutes after the raid and has been bedridden ever since.” Dr. Dark explained. “I have been working alongside with Dr. Stitches to come up with an antidote, or at least some kind of medication that could lessen her pain. Sadly, we haven’t made any progress. This poison is unlike anything we have ever seen.” Dr. Dark finished just as they flew out of New Brawl City's limits. The height of the building suddenly dropped in size as they entered Old Brawl City.
“Darn it!” McJesus yelled out in rage, as he punched a hole through the nearest side window. A gust of cool air rushed in and filled the vehicle. McJesus began to breathe heavily to try and calm himself down, recollecting his thoughts.
“How is she doing now?” He asked, his voiced shaking as he tried to control his anger.
“As far as I know, she’s resting, but in a lot of pain.” Dr. Dark replied. McJesus sat up against the trunk door, taking off his sun glasses and rubbing his eyes.
“You alright?” Permafrost asked, worried about McJesus's mental state.
“Yeah. . .Yeah, I’ll be fine. . .” He muttered as he looked out the window he smashed, watching the sun finally beginning to set.
A large gray transport freighter vehicle had passed them. McJesus and Permafrost watched it as it sped by, heading towards New Brawl City; It had the name of the company that owned it in the top left of the large cubical crate that it carried. Along its undercarriage, between the anti-gravity emitters that allowed the vehicle to fly were loose wiring. Within the wiring, Wires had made himself at home, camouflaged within it all, trying to stay out of sight. Permafrost was the first to notice him, but thought it was just his mind playing tricks on him. That is, until one of Wires' wires swung under the freighter for a brief moment as if he were saying hi.
“Hey look, it’s Wires!” Permafrost said with glee as he pointed out the back window that McJesus was sitting up against. McJesus, smiling as he watched the freighter fly away. “Huh, I wonder what he’s up to. . .” He grinned.
Dr. Dark lowered the altitude of their vehicle so that it could fly between the crumbling skyscrapers, trying to stay out of sight from any soldiers as much he possibly could. He slowed the vehicle down so that it could deal with street's turns more effectively. Civilians on the surface who were along Dr. Dark's path watched as the vehicle flew over their heads. Hiding in one of the buildings that Dr. Dark passed by was a group of Grandkade soldiers. They spotted the vehicle with Permafrost and Pulse riding along in the back; The scope in the soldiers’ visors zoomed in on the vehicle and identified the driver.
“Targets thirty-six, twenty-three, and eighty-one have been spotted in a green van with a broken passenger window heading north through Old Brawl City. License number. . .69G2F. Commander, what are your orders?” The lead soldier said over his COM as he watched the vehicle drive off, aiming his high powered energy assault rifle along its backside.
“Let them pass, we’ll be tracking them from up here, let them head into one of their little holes. A way point will be sent to you and your squad, reinforcements are underway.” A voice over the COM ordered back.
The soldier lowered his weapon and watched as the van drove off out of view. He turned around to face his squad.
“You heard the man, get moving!” he ordered his squad. The Grandkade soldiers acknowledged the order and began to vacate the building.
Meanwhile, down the street, Dr. Dark began to slow the vehicle down until they hovered over a small, abandoned store and he slowly descended to a neglected, empty parking lot. The lines that made up different lots for each car had eroded away and chunks of asphalt were thrown around, leaving the parking rather uneven. Pulses of energy from the anti-gravity emitters underneath the car blew away any loose dust or small debris that was around them. As the car landed, Dr. Dark quickly shut off the engines, opening the driver side door and stepping out. By this time, night had fallen. Permafrost slid open the right passenger door and hopped out, then McJesus and finally Pulse.
“This way.” Dr. Dark said as headed for the store. The store they parked by belonged to none other than Monty Moneybags. The glass doors that were once always routinely cleaned and polished were now nothing more than four metal beams that made up the shape of a door, as the glass had been shattered and completely cleaned off. The large windows along the side of the buildings were broken or had bullet holes through them. The shelves within that once held a variety of different overpriced groceries were now barren due to looting. Light fixtures along the roof were shattered and loose dead wires hung from the ceiling. Most of the tiles along the floor were shattered, some looking as if they were crushed, and others with more bullet holes through them.
Dr. Dark walked over to the work counter which was now missing anything that would normally be there. He headed into the back while the others followed, coming up to a short hallway consisting of two old rotting doors to their sides, and a staircase right down the hall. Dr. Dark walked over to the door to their left, pushing it open to reveal a room that was about ten square feet wide. The room was elevated slightly, compared to the height of the floor in the hall. Dr. Dark walked into the center of the room, the others walking along beside him.
“Permafrost, if you would be so kind.” Dr. Dark said as he pointed to a small switch that was covered up by the shadow of the door. Permafrost flipped the switch, right after the sound of clanking metal rumbled underneath them, and the platform they stood on began to wobble around slightly. It began to slowly sink into the ground, and as soon as they were about two meters deep, a large metallic door slowly closed shut above them. After about a minute of waiting, the air around them started to become quite cool and moist. The platform suddenly came to a shuddering loud stop, revealing a long cement hall with light fixtures roughly attached along the ceiling, flickering constantly as they struggled to stay alive. Dr. Dark walked up ahead and down the hall, as the others continued to follow.
The ending of the first part kind of conflicted with the description in the beginning, so I changed it a little. Just a heads up.
At the end of the hall was a large, steel blast door. Along its base was a worn out, chipping pattern of yellow and black vertical stripes. Pulse walked up to the blast door, clenched his left fist and began to bang on the door three times. Each one created an echo that reverberated back up the hole they came from. Pulse took a step back and waited a moment. Suddenly, the door came to life. The sound of large, heavy gears within the walls around them filled the elevator shaft-like hole as the door slowly lifted off the ground. Once it rose above their heads, it revealed a massive cave-like room filled with an assortment of different types of computerized equipment, furniture, and stacks of food. Large steel water pipes ran long the rocky ceiling, and small droplets of water leaked out of hairline cracks in the odd parts of the pipelines.
Cobb and Glace were relaxing on some old, worn out blue sofa in the far right corner of the cave. The cushions had small tears all over them which caused bits of fluff to ooze out every once in a while. In front of them was an old OMNI Inc. television, with the channel set to the main news network broadcasting from New Brawl City, allowing them to keep an eye on anything important that may come up. Krten stood over a large iron table on the opposite side of the room from Cobb and Glace. Along the table was an assortment of Grankade issued weaponry that he enjoyed dissecting and learning the mechanics of.
A large row of desks centered in the middle of the room were occupied by Took man, Leterz, and SEPsys as they worked with communication devices to contact other small Brawl hideouts all across New Brawl City and Old Brawl City. Across the room, a white door with a red cross was put up to give the medical area some privacy. McJesus saw the door and pushed his way through Dr. Dark, Pulse, and Perma. He bolted for the door without greeting any of the other Brawlers he passed and slammed the door open. The room had multiple medical beds lined up, each of them with their own set of silk white curtains and other medical machinery to monitor a person’s vitals.
Angelface laid in the bed right in front of the door. Suzy sat at the right side of her bed, holding her mother’s hand, clearly hoping she would be okay. The sound of the door opening caught her attention. McJesus stared at them both, glad to see that they were at least both still alive. He pulled off his tuque, allowing his afro underneath to spring up, along with his halo. The garbage bag around it which blocked its light loosely fell off. He took off his glasses and dropped them to the ground. As he walked over to the left side of Angelface's bed; He crouched down to eye level. Angelface still slept, but droplets sweat could be seen forming on her forehead from the pain caused by the poison. Her face clenched every so often as if she were dreaming.
“Daddy, is mommy going to get better?” Suzy asked, her young voice able to light up any depressing moment.
“Yes, Suzy, she’ll get better soon.” He reassured her, but deep down, he was quit doubtful.
Dr. Dark quietly walked in the room to visually assess Angelface’s condition. His white eyes had a worrying look to them.
“I never had a chance to ask you this.” McJesus said to Dr. Dark. Dark focused away from Angelface and to McJesus. “Have any of you heard from Balto at all?”
“Hmmm. . .No. We haven’t heard from him since the war, along with several other Brawlers.” Dr. Dark replied. McJesus didn’t say anything after that. Dr. Dark left the room to give them some privacy
Back in the other room, Took Man pressed a single button on a keyboard laid out in front of him, allowing him to switch from multiple different cameras he had set up all through Old Brawl City. He kept an eye on everything along with LeterZ and SEPsys. Took Man was missing half of his right arm from an injury caused in the war five years back, with his right sleeve tied into a knot. He flipped to a camera that over looked the store they hid under when he spotted literally hundreds of soldiers surrounding the area.
“Oh shit. . .” He said to himself. He leaned over his keyboard to type in different commands to change the view to another camera with a better view of the shop, until he spotted a large Corvette Class Grandkade ship hovering roughly three hundred feet off the ground, spotlights shined on the area due to it being nightfall. Large mechanical pillar-like devices surrounded the area, and small, bright blue lights along the sides of each and every one of them lit up simultaneously. Energy coils within these devices began to slowly turn, gaining in speed with each passing second. They all started to emit a dull red light, working their way up to a bright scolding white as the pressure building up within each of these devices began to shake the ground around them, progressively becoming more violent as the coils spun faster.
“They found us!” Took Man yelled in terror.

Hmmm... I find this tale of yours compelling. Good job, me boy. On another note, how do we have adult Civilian/Grandkade mixes walking around only 5 years later? Do these guys age super-fast, or were there rapings during said war? Also, slight lawlz: Grimscott couldn't help but smile as he watched Wires torment the machine.

Zarth already knows I like this a lot. On another note, how do we have adult Civilian/Grandkade mixes walking around only 5 years later? Do these guys age super-fast, or were there rapings during said war? Pretty sure what he meant was that people of races already conquered by the Gk Empire have re-located to Brawl. Stop being obsessed with rape.I loathe you so much it is unbelievable. And that is all I have the say on the matter.

Nice use of Doc Dark, Zarth, though I think I might come up with an alternate costume for him in settings like this where he'd actually be around others a lot. I'll get on that.

Chapter 2: Long Way From Home
In a small, dark, cubical cell, Balto sat hunched up in a corner. His trusty glove had been taken from him, and his hands were bound together by a three-inch set of metallic cuffs. Patches of his fur either missing or burned. The walls of the cell were colored a dark fading red, with markings and other such messages engraved on each wall by previous occupants. A single light fixture hung precariously by a worn out, dusty wire; It flickered constantly, as if struggling to stay alive. To Balto's left, laid along the ground, was a filthy brown, worn-out rag about the size of a mattress. To his right was a small hole that functioned as a toilet; Around the hole's rim were a collection on urine stains and bits of old, crusty feces.
Adjacent to the wall Balto sat against was an entrance the size of a normal door frame, with shield emitters built into the walls surrounding it; A dull, sky blue, partially transparent dome sealed the area. Above this shield was a black, seven-inch TV screen built into the wall, with the channel set to New Brawl City's main news station. Nothing important was on.
Right outside of Balto's cell was a long room consisting thirty other cell blocks that looked almost identical to his, and each of them was filled with either one or two occupants. Above were five other floors, each of them connected by six small elevators that led to walkways looping around the room; Connecting each cell block. This long, tall room was just as dingy and depressing as the cell blocks, with the few lights there being on the verge of burning out.
In the uppermost level, sitting in the fetal position near the barrier that locked his room, was Davey. The chain that once connected him to his sister had been severed, separating the once strong duo. They had been placed in different locations, unable to see one another again. Davey curled up there, gently rocking back and forth, looking extremely depressed. Wrapped around both his normal hand and his chain link was a thick metallic hoop that looked similar to the cuffs worn by Balto.
On each level were a set of double-sliding doors, which swiftly slid open as a group of seven soldiers walked through; Each of them held long metal rods about forty-five centimeters long, with two white hot prongs on the end of them. One by one, the soldiers took up position between every other cell block, while one soldier on the lowest level headed for a control panel that had been built into the wall. He opened up a metal cover, revealing multiple switches and a button that could either open up one certain cell or all of them at the same time. He reached for a red switch, but before he flipped it, he turned around to announce something to the prisoners.
“Alright you lot, it’s lunch time, time to eat your slop!” He bellowed before flipping the switch causing the emitters for each shield to flicker off. All the prisoners, including Balto walked out of their cells simultaneously and headed for the sliding doors, except for Davey, who had only just barely gotten up. A Grandkade solder standing by his cell noticed this and walked over to him.
“Are you deaf? It’s time for lunch, get up!” He yelled as he kicked Davey’s small head with the flat of his foot, sending him off the walkway and down to the lower level. Davey hit the floor with a thump, giving out a silent squeaky moan from the blunt pain he just endured. He slowly stumbled to his feet and began to slowly walk to the doors like everyone else.
Unfortunately, another soldier was growing impatient. He flipped a small switch on his rod, and a surge of energy seemed to pop off the prongs. He walked over behind Davey and jabbed him in the kidney, creating a sharp zapping sound as it scorched his blue skin. Davey jumped forward from the sharp pain, and his eyes clenched together as he tried desperately not to cry. He started walking a little faster in order to get away from the soldier.
On the other side of the doors was a wide hallway with a high ceiling, consisting of intertwining staircases for the prisoners to make their way down to the lowest level.. Everyone was completely silent, and the only thing you could hear were their footsteps along the metallic surfaces. Ahead of them was a wide, nine foot high blast door that had to be at least just under a foot thick, with a worn out Grandkade symbol on the front of it. All the prisoners stopped in their tracks as they waited for the door to open.
A moment later it did, slowly lifting off the ground to reveal a massive cafeteria-like area, with eight rows of eight tables stretched down the room. In the center of the room was a thick, transparent red-tinted wall that cut the room in half. Along the ceiling were assortments of metal runways that began from square holes in the walls and were placed in an orderly fashion, thirty feet above the ground. On catwalks that were sixteen feet above the first level were a dozen guards armed with high-powered rifles, who eyed the prisoners as the blast door opened.
As the group of prisoners that Balto and Davey were in began to fill the cafeteria, another group of prisoners from an identical blast door flooded into the cafeteria on the other side of the wall. In another group, Davey spotted a familiar purple figure behind a couple of other prisoners. His face lit up as it drew closer, until he could finally make it out, being none other than this sister, Tina. He hurried over to the clear wall and plastered his face against it, hoping his sister would notice him, and that she did. She ran up in front of him and put her forehead against the wall, trying to get as close to one another as they could. She too had the same brace as Davey wrapped around her.
As the prisoners took their seats, a long line of small cranes began to slide out of the square holes; With each of them carrying a tray with a bowl of gray, lumpy, foul-smelling slop, and a clear oval canister which carried foggy brown water. The cranes lowered down in front of each prisoner, unlatching the trays and pulling themselves back, retreating into the square holes. Balto stared at his food and gave out a sigh.
“My favorite!” He said sarcastically. He looked around his tray for any utensils, unable to find any. Sitting up straight with a confused look on his face, he looked up to one of the guards on the catwalk.
“What? No spoons today?” He asked with a smug tone.
“Shut up.” The guard snarled. Balto looked back to his food, raised his cuffed arms and began to slowly shovel the slop into his mouth with his hands. Suddenly a brawl between two normal prisoners on the other side of the wall broke out. Throwing punches and kicking one another, they rolled up against the transparent wall. Other prisoners began to cheer and jeer at their fight. Every one on Balto's side looked on; Fights like those were rare in this prison due to the punishment. Suddenly without warning, the soldiers on the other side of the wall, on the catwalk, raised their rifles and fired upon the prisoners, killing them both. Their blood splattered against the wall.
The crowed went silent as they witnessed their friends die right in front of them. Davey and his sister didn’t bother to budge as the bolts passed by them; They still stood there, looking at one another as if they were statues.
Balto shook his head in pity as he turned back around to face his food.
“Idiots.” Balto whispered. After picking another lump of his slop, he noticed something brown in the bowl. He put the slop back in the bowl and picked out the object. His eyes widened as the slop slid off. It was his glove; Somehow it had gotten into his food. Balto's heart began to pound and sweat trickled off his forehead. He quickly put the glove in his lap, hoping the no one had noticed. He looked around at all the guards watching the prisoners in the cafeteria and noticed that none of them were watching him in particular. Balto let out a small sigh of relief and he looked down to his glove, slowly cleaning the bits of slop off of it. He hadn’t seen his trusty glove in over five years.
Balto came back to his senses and knew that if he wasn’t careful he would lose it again. So he slowly squeezed it in between the cuff on his right wrist in order to conceal it from the soldiers. He checked to make sure no one was still watching him until he noticed one of the guards’ on the catwalk across the room from him staring right at him. Balto froze, hoping that he hadn't become suspicious. The soldier didn’t move or do anything to communicate with the others, but rather, he gave a slight nod of approval towards Balto.
Suddenly a loud, dull hum filled the room, causing the blast doors to slowly re-open.
“Lunch is over! Get back to your cells, you pathetic bastards!” A soldier announced. Immediately afterward, all the prisoners rose from their seats, heading back through the blast doors and to their cells. Davey and his sister on the other hand, did not.
“Hey, you two, get moving!” A soldier ordered, irritated with Davey and Tina.
They did not move.
“I warned you!” He yelled as he fired a single shot at Tina.
Tina yelled in pain as the bolt hit her leg, causing her to fall to her knees.
Her leg still sizzling from the heat, she limped away from the window and joined the other prisoners. Davey started to panic, walking along the window, bashing the brace around his arms and he tried to get through to help his sister.
Balto just watched on as he felt an uncontrollable rage against the guard who had fired at them. He then turned away and walked back through the blast door. He headed for his cell, trying to keep his glove out of sight and safely stuffed in between his right cuff and his arm. He walked over and into his cell, plopping down on his dirty rug.
A soldier by the control panel flipped the switch once again, once again triggering all the emitters to sent up the shields that locked each cell. He then left the control panel and began to walk towards the doors. Balto waited for him to leave before pulling out his glove. As the soldier went by his cell and walked out the door, Balto quickly turned away from the sealed door and picked out his glove. It was sticky and wet from being in the slop, but he didn’t care. Balto took the rim of the glove and carefully slid it over his right hand. Balto flexed his hand to make sure it fit properly, until finally standing up and facing the sealed door. He took a deep breath before raising his arm.
“Here goes nothing!” He exclaimed, as a bright green light began to glow from his glove. Suddenly a burst of green energy blew out, destroying the shield door that locked him in the cell. In response to the breach, an alarm sprung to life.
“Breach in Cell block seven, I repeat, breach in cell block seven.” The automated voice repeated as a loud siren echoed through the room.
“Darn it, I knew it was too good to be true.” Balto muttered to himself as he ran out of his cell. He hurried to the control panel, raising his arm again and shooting another laser at it, causing the control panel blow up from the sudden burst of energy. The shield emitters for every cell vanished, and all of the prisoners except for Davey began to riot within the cell block.
Balto ran over to one of the elevators that would lead to the top level, he hopping on and noticing a lever on a small stand to his left. He pushed it forward which caused the elevator to run up along the wall. The elevator came to an automatic stop as it hit the top level. Balto ran down the walkway towards Davey’s cell. He slid to a halt in front of it to see Davey hunched over in a corner.
“Davey, we need to go!” Balto shrieked as he kept looking back every other second to make sure the guards hadn’t arrived yet. Yet Davey didn’t budge. He simply sat there, depressed, thinking of his sister.
“Come on! If we hurry then we can get Tina out too!” Balto assured, hoping that it would motivate him to move. Davey lifted his head at the sound of his sibling's name, until hopping to his feet and wobbling over to Balto's side.
“Atta boy! Okay, we need to get moving now!” Balto yelled as he tried to talk over the alarm. They both began to run down the walkway and towards the double door on the top level, racing past other prisoners. But just before they reached the doors, they slid open to reveal a pair of crowd control-type solders.
The armour they wore was much larger and more bulky then that of a normal soldier. The main colour of their armour was a dark gray, with a yellow stripe along their shoulder pads and down the sides of their legs. The soldiers' heads were covered by a light blue-tinted, glass dome, and each soldier held huge machine guns that were attached to their left arms. A plasma battery was placed on their backs to charge their weapons and suits, with each suit weighing nearly five hundred pounds.
As they began to enter the room, their huge metallic feet shook the walkway Balto and Davey were on. The two soldiers raised their left arms, supporting themselves with their right. The barrel of the machine guns began to rotate.
“Holy cow!” Balto yelled “Get back!” He said as he backed into the nearest cell, pulling Davey along with him. Suddenly a spray of plasma bolts filled the room, with the sounds of multiple popping sounds as each bolt left a barrel. The soldiers marched along the walkway, mowing down all the prisoners on every level. The sounds of their bloody screams rang through Balto's ears. They walked by the cell that Balto and Davey were in, their backs turned, not noticing that they had managed to take cover from their fire.
Balto raised his arms and aimed his glove at the battery on the back of one of the guards. He fired, causing the battery to overload and explode. The soldier within screamed in pain as he lost control of his suit and fell off the walkway. The other soldier quickly turned around to face Balto and Davey, pointing his powerful machine gun right at Balto's face. The barrels began to rotate, and bright lights within slowly became bright as they began to recharge. Balto closed his eyes, thinking it was the end when suddenly a red-yellow light streaked across the room, cutting the battery on the soldier's back in half. It detonated, and the man inside also lost control of his suit.
Balto opened one eye, confused as to why he wasn’t dead yet when he noticed the soldier that was about to rip them apart laying on the ground. Balto got up and inspected the body, making sure he really was dead. He then poked his head outside the cell to see a Grandkade soldier without his helmet on, walking towards them.
“Hey Balto, you alright?” The soldier yelled, trying to talk over the alarm.
“J-John, is that you!?” Balto asked as he rubbed his eyes to make sure they weren’t playing tricks on him.
“Yeah, it’s me. Come on, we need to get out of here now!” John said rather quickly as he ran back towards the double doors. Both Balto and Davey ran along the walkway and through the double doors after him. John had stopped by the open blast door; He hid by a wall, trying to stay out of sight while waiting for Balto and Davey to catch up. Balto and Davey rushed down the stairs and up by the wall beside John. John looked at them and then down to their cuffs.
“Ugh, here, let me get those off you guys.” John said as he created a blue energy blade. He took the blade by its handle and began to cut through Balto’s cuffs like as if it were a loaf of bread. Once they were sliced off, Balto slid the loose pieces off his wrists as they hit the floor with a clang. Balto rubbed his wrists; He hadn’t noticed how sore they had gotten ever since they put those cuffs on him. John then began to cut the brace around Davey. Once he cut through it, Davey wiggled it off as fast as he could. The brace also hit the floor with a clang. Davey stretched his arm and jiggled his broken chain.
“Okay, now we need to hurry. They’ve taken Tina to room 17G, and we have to get to her before they start the process.” John explained as he peered back out to the catwalk, where several solders laid in wait for any unsuspecting prisoners to try and flee the area.
“What’s in room 17G?” Balto asked, curious as to why they would be taking Tina there.
John visibly hesitated. "Uhh. . .Look, I tell you later, we just don't have time to discuss this right now." John replied, trying to avoid the question. "You see that door up there by the catwalk?” John asked as he pointed towards the door.
“Yeah, what about it?” Balto replied as he looked over to where John was pointing.
“That’s where they took her. But the problem is, there are armed guards all along the catwalks, and we need to think of an efficient way to get through. And the only way to get on the catwalk is by that slanted part right over there.” John explained, unable to come up with an idea.
“I got it!" Balto stated triumphantly. “Create a bubble around us while we run across the catwalk and run down any of the guards that get in our way!” Balto was quite happy, knowing his freedom was just minutes away.
“I guess that could work. . .Okay, huddle close. I don’t know how long I can keep the shield up while being shot at, so we need to be quick, got it?” John asked, hesitant on the plan that Balto had come up with.
“Gotcha!” Balto replied.
“Yup!” Davey agreed.
“Alright, here goes. “ John spoke as he formed a ball with his hands, creating a sphere of blue energy and then quickly spreading his hands in order to manipulate the energy to expand and form a bubble around them.
“Move!” John ordered as he began to run forward into the cafeteria and towards the slanted part of the catwalk. The other followed right behind him. Almost immediately after they entered the cafeteria, energy bolts began to pelt the shield's membrane, slowly weakening it.
“Keep going, and don’t stop for anything!” John yelled, trying to talk over the sound of the bolts hitting the energy bubble. As they made their way up to the catwalk, they trampled over the first soldier that stood in their way.
“Fall back, let them pass!” One of the soldiers ordered as he backed away. The other soldiers complied and jumped off of the catwalk in order to avoid being trampled as well.
John, Balto and Davey reached the door. Balto put his gloved hand up against the door, charging his glove to the point where the pressure simply blew the door off its hinges. Behind the door revealed a long hallway with multiple doorways, each of them numbered. Farther down the hall, Tina and two escort soldiers were seen, about to enter one of the rooms.
“Get away from my sister!” Davey yelled as he charged towards them. The guards turned around to face Davey and the others, pulling their rifles up and aiming them towards Davey as he closed in. Without thinking, Tine tackled one of the guards and bringing him down. This distracted the other long enough for Davey to leap towards him and latch onto his face.
Balto shot an accurate laser at Tina’s brace, blowing it in half. Davey strangled the soldier he latched on to by wrapping his chain around his neck and dragging him along, while Tina ripped the other soldier apart with her teeth. Both Balto and John just watched, more than a little disturbed. After a moment of struggling, the soldiers finally died from their injuries.
Tina and Davey stood up straight and faced one another before suddenly embracing one other with a big hug, happy to finally be together again. A bright white light emitted from both of their severed chains as they slowly molded back together.
“I missed you.” Tina whispered.
“I missed you, too.” Davey replied as they both let go of one another. They turned over to face Balto and john.
“Well? Are we going to get out of here or what?” They asked simultaneously.
“Oh yeah, that’s right,” John said to himself, “I have a transport ship all ready to go, we just need to make it down there!” he explained, happy that they could all finally get out of there.
“Just follow me, I know the way” John exclaimed as he began to run down the hall and past Tina and Davey.
Balto followed but took a moment to look at the door that Tina had almost entered, curious as to what was behind it.
“Come on, Balto, move! We don’t have all day!” John yelled, snapping Balto out of his trance. Balto shook his head and continued to follow John.
As they rushed down the hall, they came up to a huge window. Balto stopped for a moment to look out of it. What he saw stunned him: They were in orbit. Not over the White Void, but a huge desert planet. A planet that had sixty-five percent of its surface altered and built upon by hundreds of thousands of Grandkade military bases.
“W-Where are we?!” Balto yelled, starting to become quite scared of their situation. John walked over to Balto's side and looked down to the planet.
“We’re in a prison station that’s orbiting over fortress world number seventy-two.” John said, putting his left hand over his mouth, “But don’t worry, we’ll get out of here.” he assured. Balto shook his head in disbelief.
“How far away from home are we, John?” Balto asked, looking John straight in the eyes. John looked away from Balto and back at the planet.
“About. . .three hundred and fifty-two light years away from home.” he answered hesitantly. Balto’s jaw dropped at how far they were.
“Well. . .we can get back right? We just have to get to the hanger, right?” Balto asked, trying to suppress his panic.
“Yeah, we d-"
“You aren’t going anywhere!” called a voice from behind, interrupting John. They all quickly looked back to see a man with pitch black, pointy armor that looked nothing like the other soldiers they encountered. He wore no helmet, but had short, dark blond spiked hair. His eyes were a dark brown, nearly black, and he had a scar across his left cheek that ran down under his chin. A small device that was wrapped around his right ear had a small screen that extended around the side of his head and overlapped his right eye. This person looked like he was around twenty seven years old.
He raised his left arm and clenched his hand into a fist. Pieces of metal along his left arm that was attached to his armor began to move and form the shape of a barrel that extended ten inches from the tip of his knuckles. A coil within the barrel had formed, completely concealing his hand away.
“Oh, what are you going to do? There’s one of you and four of us.” John gloated.
Without any warning, a burst of a bright yellow light exploded out of the barrel, purposely missing the Brawlers, and hitting the huge window behind them. The immense heat and pressure from the blast blew a clean hole right through it. The vacuum of space began to take the window apart, and the pressurized atmosphere began to drop like a rock as it was all sucked out. The man who blew the hole through the window smashed an emergency lock that was placed on the wall beside him. A blast door surrounding the area around the Brawlers began to close off.
“Damn it, why did I see that coming?" John swore as he braced himself from being sucked out.
“Have a nice day.” The man said with a grin just before the blast doors cut him off.
Suddenly the entire window shattered to bits, letting the vacuum of space suck all the Brawlers out of the station and send them hurdling straight for the planet they once orbited.

That's gotta be one big bowl of slop to fit a glove like that.
How did John make his way to the planet? How did he know where they were? I MUST KNOW!
And how do I pronounce Grandkade anyways, I'm probably over thinking that one though.
And you better not tell me Omni is dead yo, maybe imprisoned in the core of a prison planet made just for him, but not dead yo. He's too cool to die.

Sorry for the wait, guys. Grim has been busy lately so it delayed the release of this chapter a little, it's not a problem though.
Chapter 3: Horribly Timed Arrival
“Clear the area; The plasma drill will be activated in t-minus ten seconds!” a soldier ordered as the cylinder-shaped objects began to charge. Metallic stands expanded from the sides to stabilize the drills as they began to tear through the ground. All the soldiers within the circle began to vacate the area. A second later, powerful, bright yellow beams began to flow out of the drills, chewing away deep holes into the surface that were four feet in diameter.
Down below, the Brawlers were becoming frantic as they watched round, red hot blotches begin to appear in a circular formation around them. As the splotches gradually got bright, the room began to shake as the plasma neared their position. The ceiling above had become unstable, causing bits of rock and stalactites to drop, crushing equipment and nearly hitting Brawlers.
“We're in shit now!” Took Man swore as he stood up from his chair. Suddenly, one of the lasers broke through right over the TV Glace and Cobb sat in front of, and the blindingly bright light from the beam lit the whole cave. Cobb shielded his eyes with his left arm as he turned away from it. Glace chose to run up beside the laser as he was unharmed by it. With one arm shielding his eyes, he used the other to try and touch the laser. Once his finger touched it, it rapidly transformed into red ice. But before it could reach the drill up above, the pressure from the laser broke the ice and sent out a shockwave that sent Glace flying into the table Krten worked at.
“Everyone, head for the emergency exit!” Took Man yelled as he ran for the medical room. He quickly bashed the door open, to see McJesus just getting ready to move the bed that Angleface laid on. Suzy sat on the bed with her mother so she could stay out of her father’s way.
“Which way do we go, Took Man?” McJesus asked, worried about how his family would survive.
“Down there, there’s a secret door in the side of that wall.” Took Man answered as he pointed down the medical room. “But let a few of us take the lead, we can’t have the sick up front. “ Took Man said as Cobb, Glace, Leterz, Permafrost, and Pulse ran by them.
“Alright, let’s move her.” Took Man said as he stayed back and waited for the others to make their way through. McJesus gently jostled the bed as he popped it out of the clamps which held it against the wall, he then began to wheel it down the medical room as he gained in speed.
Cobb was the first to reach the emergency door, which looked like any of the other walls in the cave except for an aluminum handle to his right. Cobb grabbed the handle and began to pull it to the left. At first it wouldn’t budge due to rust in between the cracks. Cobb then gripped it with two hands and pulled as hard as he could, until finally the door began to slowly slide open, dragging along the floor. He didn’t stop until it was open wide enough for Angelface's bed to easily roll through. On the other side of the door was a long, dark, slanted hallway that eventually lead to the surface.
Took Man stayed back while he waited for SEPsys, Dr. Dark, and Krten to make their way down to the medical room and towards the emergency door. After they made it, and Took Man was the only one left in the room, he ran in and inspected the other red hot blotches that hadn’t pierced their way through yet. Once he found the dullest red blotch, he raised his left arm up to the roof and spawned a powerful explosive that would take out the base and anything in a hundred yard radius. Took Man then bolted back to the medical room and towards the emergency door. Just before he went through the medical door, several other lasers pierced the ceiling behind him, burning away any of the furniture that may have been placed under them.
Took Man sprinted up the slanted path to join the others, the sound of his own breath echoing through the tunnel. With every swing of his severed arm there was a jolt of pain from the damaged nerves within. A light at the end of a tunnel appeared as the sun started to slowly rise. Once Took Man made it through the tunnel, he came up to an empty parking lot. The group of Brawlers stood around the exit from the tunnel as they watched the Grandkade forces drill their way into the underground base off in the distance. Took Man turned around to join the others in the view. He smiled as caught his breath, waiting for the bomb he had placed to go off.
Suddenly a blinding bright light lit the area. The sound of the drilling abruptly ended, and a split second later a loud, crackling roar from the explosion echoed out in every direction, accompanied by a powerful shockwave that blew away some heavily damaged apartments. It pushed the front of the Corvette Class starship towards the sky, popping its shields and dealing extensive damage to its outer hull. The Brawlers braced themselves as the shockwave whipped passed them, blowing away anything that wasn’t held down.
The ship's engines above the base began to fail, causing it to slowly fall to the surface, as pieces of loose molten metal snapped off and hurtled to the ground below. Explosions began to erupt all over the ship, blowing out windows and weak points in its hull just as it touched the ground. The entire ship detonated into a huge ball of blue fireball as it tore itself apart. Grandkade crewmen could be seen falling out of holes throughout the ship.
“Now that’s what I call starting the day out with a bang!” Took Man joked proudly.
“What just happened. . .?” Glace asked, as he scratched the back of his head.
“I planted a bomb under one of their drills.” Took Man answered with a big grin.
“Okay, good work. Now what?” Cobb wondered, hoping the others knew where to go from here.
“We need to get out the city. That should divert the attention away from O.B.C. so that others like us can stay hidden for a little while longer. No doubt that this is airing all over the news right about now. And with that, we’ll have more Grandkade soldiers on our tail if we don’t move out soon anyway.” Krten explained as he released the safety on his favourite P90.
“Yeah, alright. . .” Took Man replied quietly under his breath. He was facing the opposite direction of where the two explosions were, walking out into the middle of the parking lot. The others watched him as he raised his left arm, flattening his hand out in front of him. Then suddenly, he created a bright yellow school bus complete with a side elevator able to carry Angleface in without hassle. Along the side of it were the words “Magic School Bus” painted on in different colours, but crossed off with a red streak.
“All aboard!” Took Man announced as he opened the passenger entrance. As the brawlers walked over to the bus, Took Man spawned a set of keys and threw them towards Cobb and then walked into the bus himself; Cobb caught them in mid-air, bringing his hand down and looking at the keys.
“Heh, I guess I’m driving.” He said with a grin as he walked up the stairs in the bus and promptly sat in the driver's seat. He placed a key in the key slot, turning it to the right which started the bus’s engine. He then pulled back the lever and put the bus into drive, its wheels slowly beginning to turn as they made their way off of the parking lot and into the decimated streets of Old Brawl City. The ride was quite bumpy from all the pot holes and cracks through the roads.
The Brawlers had taken up random seats in the bus, while most of them sat by the windows, McJesus and Suzy stayed by Angelface's side.
“Why of all things are we riding in a school bus? And the Magic School Bus at that?” Permafrost complained, confused about Took Man's choice.
Took Man turned around in his seat, which was in front of Permafrost, to answer him.
“Because, it’s magic and it’s a rental.” Took Man taunted.
“Hey, Took! Where are we heading?” Cobb yelled back, trying to get his attention.
“Uhh, what? Oh! Hold on a sec, I need a map.” Took Man replied as he turned back around on his seat. He quickly spawned an updated, folded map of the White Void. He began to unfold it to the section of New and Old Brawl City, along with hundreds of square miles outside of its limits. He ran his finger along the road that they were on, plotting out a safe route outside of the city. Took Man then stood up, keeping his eyes locked on the route he wanted to take on the map, before carefully walking over to Cobb and putting the map down on the dash board. He held it down with what was left of his right arm.
“Alright, here’s our current position,” Took Man said as he pointed to a spot on the map, “We need to go along this route here until we get out of O.B.C’s limits. Once we're out, we need to head straight for this spot here.” He explained as he pointed to blank spot in the White Void.
“What’s supposed to be there?” Cobb asked as he glanced at the map every so often, wanting to keep his eyes on the road.
“A bunker, it was set up a few days after the war had begun. As far as I know, they haven’t discovered it yet, so it should be a safe place to rest.” Took Man answered as he rolled the map back up and moved out of Cobb’s way.
“Alright, to the bunker it is!” Cobb said happily. He then made a sharp turn without warning so as to follow the route Took Man picked out, causing the man to lose his balance and land in the seat behind Cobb. The other Brawlers were jostled around a bit.
“So. . .Are we there yet?” Glace said with a grin, trying to purposely irritate the others around him.
After half an hour of driving through the city districts, they finally broke free of the city limits and started to drive along the Void's flat, smooth surface, finally giving the passengers a break from all the bumps.
“So how much further do we have to go?” Permafrost asked as he stared out the window, watching O.B.C and N.B.C grow smaller as the distance between the city and the bus grew larger.
“Not too far now.” Took Man replied as he scanned their surroundings for anything out of the ordinary.
Suddenly, a few yards ahead, a bright light began to shine out of nowhere, and the space around it slowly began to morph, distorting. A silhouette of two figures walked out of the light. The light was so bright that it blinded Cobb for a minute. He tried to hit the brakes as fast as he could as the bus closed in on the figures, the wheels giving off a violent screech as the breaks were deployed, and the smell of burning rubber filled the passenger area of the bus. All the Brawlers were thrown forwards from the sudden decline in speed.
Cobb had lost control which caused the Magic School Bus to hurtle sideways towards the two figures; A loud thump was heard near the back of the bus, and the five foot tall indent of a person splattering against the side of the bus had formed upon impact. As the bus slowly came to a stop, it lifted off of its right wheels and nearly toppled over, but fell back in place.
“The hell was that!?” was the phrase shouted in unison when everything calmed down, the passengers being a little distraught from the sudden change in pace.
“I. . .I think I hit something. . .” Cobb answered, not too sure if he actually did or not. He worriedly popped the door open and stepped outside to survey the sides of the bus. Steam vented off of the wheels and out of the engine. A few windows were cracked. As he approached the indent on the side of the bus, he saw a young boy with white hair stuck on the side; He wore a red t-shirt and a pair of black shorts. Cobb tilted his head in confusion before walking over and grabbing the top of his head, slowly peeling him out of the side of the bus. Amazingly, the boy only seemed to be slightly dazed with a few scratches on him from the collision.
“You alright, kid?” Cobb asked as he lifted him up to eye level.
“Huh, wha. . .?” The boy mumbled as he rubbed his eyes.
“I said, are you alright? That quite a nasty hit you got yourself into.” Cobb repeated as he placed him down on his feet. The kid stumbled around a little as he regained his footing. He blinked a few times, trying to clear his eyes. When his vision was back to normal, he quickly looked around and started to panic.
“Wh-Where am I? How did I get here? And where is my friend?!” He demanded, starting to freak out.
“Woah. . .Calm down, lad. That collision must have done a number on your head. You’re in the White Void. You must be new here, eh?” Cobb said slowly as he tried to calm the kid down. Both Took Man and Glace walked out of the passenger door to see what the hold up was about.
“Hey, what’s going on out here, Cobb?” Took Man asked as he hopped down to ground level and walked over to him.
“Did you hit something?” Glace asked as he too made his way over to the gray man.
“Yeah, I hit this kid here. But he seems alright, just a little confused.” Cobb answered as he turned around to face Took Man and Glace.
Suddenly, another person appeared from behind the bus, panting as if he had been chasing the bus. He wore a golden crown that had a green letter c engraved on the front, while crimson red barbed wire wrapped around the top. His hair was short and black, his skin a dark green colour. His jacket was a darker shade of green, with a black t-shirt underneath, complete with a pair of brown jeans.
“What the hell just happened here?! Shackles, are you ok?” He demanded as he caught his breath by the side of the bus. Shackles turned around as soon as he heard his friend's familiar voice.
“DryChris! Thank god, I thought you were dead for a second there.” Shackles exclaimed, relieved that his friend was okay.
“You thought I was dead? You’re the one who got hit by this piece of junk.” DryChris said as he nodded his head towards the bus.
“Hey, that wasn’t very nice!” Took Man replied indignantly, insulted by the green boy's statement.
“So, your name is Shackles, kid?” Cobb asked as he looked at the two new boys in front of him.
“Yeah, and we're not kids!” Shackles yelled, becoming a little irritated at being called a kid. “We’re teenagers.”
“Ah, my mistake,” Cobb apologized, “Uh hey, Took Man.” Cobb started as he turned around to face him.
“Yeah?”
“How much further do we have to go until we reach the bunker?” Cobb asked, as he wasn’t sure if the bus had enough fuel to go any further.
“Ummm, actually. . .” Took Man paused as he looked around for something, noticing a single inconspicuous metal rod that stood out of the ground just a few yards away.
“We’re actually here.” Took Man said as he walked towards the metal rod.
“A bunker? Why are you heading to a bunker when there’s a city just over there?” DryChris asked as he pointed towards N.B.C.
“Because the people who control that place are hunting us down.” Glace answered with a hint of anger in his voice.
Took Man stood by the metal rod, looking at it for a second. He placed his left hand on the top of the rod and pushed it down a few inches. At first it resisted Took Man's force, but slowly gave away and sank into the ground on its own. A moment later, a thirty inch thick cement, underground latch began to slowly lift up from under the surface of the White Void. White sand and dust slid off the top and created a small pile behind it, and bits of loose sand fell along the sides. Everyone looked on as it slowly opened up to a huge, dark room underground.
Took Man turned around to face the others.
“Welcome to Bunker Seventy Two,” he said, raising his voice so that everyone could hear, “If you would all please step inside, there will be an assortment of beverages and snacks waiting for you in the lobby.” He finished with a gesture of his left arm to show them inside.
“Cobb, would you be so kind as to drive the bus in as well?” Took Man asked, trying to speak in a fancy way for some reason.
“Yeah. . .Sure...” Cobb complied hesitantly, slightly creeped out by Took Man's tone. He walked over and back into the bus, starting the engine up when he noticed McJesus, still beside Angelface’s bed along with their daughter, Suzy.
“Poor guys. . .” He whispered under his breath as he began to slowly move the bus towards the bunker entrance.
Took Man waited for everyone to enter to the bunker before he closed the door, then stepped out to make sure everyone had made it inside. He glared at the city off in the distance for a moment before turning his back on the city and walking down intro the bunker; The massive cement latched closed-in behind him. The slanted path led down to a large, hanger-like area that consisted of multiple tables and other furniture. Along the tables were the assortment of snacks that Took Man had promised. A huge, flat-screen TV had been built into a wall adjacent to the entrance of the bunker. The channel was set to the news, which was currently broadcasting what had happened earlier in Old Brawl City.
In the middle of the hanger, McJesus was using the elevator on the bus to lower down Angelface's bed. Suzy left her mother’s bedside for a moment to get something to eat, picking out two bags of chips and two bottles of water. She turned around to make her way back to her father, who was starting to wheel the bed off to the side and out of the way of everyone else.
“He-hey, guys?! Guys! She’s waking up!” McJesus announced excitedly.

Chapter 4: Stranded
Balto, John, and the Chain Twins hurtled uncontrollably towards the desert fortress world, passing by the starships of various sizes that orbited the planet. As they neared the atmosphere, things began to heat up as friction from the atmosphere violently rubbed against them. Due to the fact that sound doesn’t travel in space, John was not able to tell the others what to do, so he shot a laser at both Balto and the Chain Twins, who were drifting away and would have most likely fell in different areas of the planet. He manipulated the lasers in a way to grab hold of them, then pulled on both of the lasers to pull the others closer together. As soon as they were close enough, John quickly formed a blue energy bubble around them just in time, as the friction from the atmosphere began to form a layer of super heated gas around them. The gas rushed by, causing the smooth energy bubble they were in to ripple. Their momentum hastened as gravity from the world they were falling to pulled them in.
Once they passed the first cloud line, the shield that John struggled to keep stable had given out.
“Ha! Shit, it’s free fall here on out, guys!” John yelled as he tried to talk over the rushing wind between them. All three of them hurtled towards a large, seemingly endless desert, where the sight of sand dunes went on for miles, and the colour of the sky was a strange, swamp green. The planet's white hot sun baked the surface to a boiling temperature of two hundred and fifty two degrees. Absolutely no life could be seen anywhere in their surroundings. Each Brawler impacted the surface one by one with a painful thud, causing hot sand to jet out twenty feet into the air.
Balto dug himself out of a six foot deep crater that he made, and began grasping at the loose, scolding hot sand on the surface. Once he got his face above the sand he took a small breather, and then began to pull the rest of his body out from crater. Balto stumbled to his feet as his eyes adjusted to the unusual sunlight. He looked off in the distance to try and get his bearings, but to no avail. The new environment, the endless desert complete with a swamp green sky, it was all new to him. He had no idea where he was.
Both the Chain Twins and John dug themselves out of their craters simultaneously. They stumbled over to Balto, trying to gain their footing on the loose, almost quicksand-like sand. John’s Gk armour was heavily damaged from the fall; The chest piece was in shambles, his shoulder pads had fallen off, and the armour around his arms and legs were ready to fall off if they took anymore damage. The Chain Twins’ metal exteriors were dented and cracked from the impact, but they still looked quite happy, and seemed to not be in any pain.
Balto covered his eyes with his right hand as he tried to take in all the stress of being stranded in enemy territory.
“So, John. Any ideas on where to go next before we die of dehydration?” Balto asked, trying to not blow a gasket. John exhaled heavily as he looked around for any kind of landmark they could head for. Unfortunately, they landed in an untouched area of the fortress world.
“Just start walking in a straight line until we run into something, I guess. . .” He replied as he slowly walked down the sand dune they had landed on.
“Great. . .Just, fan-freaking-tastic!” Balto yelled as he began to randomly kick up clouds of sand in order to vent his anger.
“We're lost on a ‘fortress world’,” Balto said, quoting the words with his fingers, “And hundreds of lightyears from the White Void! Could things get any better!?” Balto yelled into the sky, hoping something else would happen. But nothing did.
“Oh what?! You think now is the best time to give us a break!?” Balto swore at an imaginary figure in rage while John and the Chain Twins looked on.
“Dammit, Balto, calm down. We don’t need this right now.” John told Balto as he took two steps towards him.
“Oh, I’m calm, perfectly calm,” Balto replied, grinding his teeth, his left eye twitching from all the stress, ” It’s you who needs to calm down, John!” Balto said, pointing towards John.
“I don’t need this,” John said as he rubbed his face, trying to shed away the stress Balto was putting on him, “I’m going to find a way off this dust ball, if you don't want to follow me, go right ahead. But I’m leaving.” John told Balto as he turned and walked away. The Chain Twins just stood there and watched as they argued, confused as to why they were acting this way.
“Come on, Chain Twins, let’s get out of here!” John hollered as he walked off. The Chain Twins began to run over to John, but not before looking back at Balto sit down on the sand dune they had landed on.
When John and the Chain Twins were six yards away, Balto took a deep breath and stood back up. He looked at them still walking off into the distance. Balto slid down the sand dune and began to walk in the same direction they were heading.
John looked back to see Balto walking in their direction.
“Walk a little slower to let him catch up.” John said to the Chain Twins. The twins nodded and slowed their pace along with John; After a few minutes, Balto had finally caught up with the others, but stayed right behind them, keeping his eyes to the ground so that he didn’t have to make eye contact.
“Thanks for rescuing us, John.” Balto whispered just loud enough for him to hear.
“You’re welcome.” John replied without looking back at him.
“This question has been nagging at me for a while now. . .But, how did you find us, John?” Balto asked, curious as to what John’s explanation was.
“You know back when the war had just ended, back when you surrendered the city to these guys?” John said, recalling the war in his thoughts.
“Yeah. . .?” Balto answered as he looked up to John.
“Well, when they took you away. I managed to stow away in the cargo bay of the ship you were carried away in. As they were unloading all the prisoners into the prison station, I snuck off and hid in an equipment closet for a few hours. While I was in there, I found this computer that had all the access codes and other things a guard would need to get around in the station.” John explained as he looked up in the sky and at the white dot that was the prison station.
“After going through all that information, I devised a plan to rescue you right then, But. . .once I stepped out of the closet, I was confronted by a group of solders. Luckily they thought I was a part of a tour that was going through in the lower levels. So they escorted me back to the group and eventually I was forced to get on board one of three civilian transport ships which lead to another planet that this empire owns. And for about four years after that, I had no other choice but to study up their law system and figure out what the best course of education I would have needed to take to get back to you.” John explained, while he looked back at Balto.
“So once I completed all that, I applied for a job at that prison station. I had gone through a few interviews, and some training sessions. But once I finished it all with above average grades, they gave me my Grandkade soldier uniform and I was immediately placed on the job. After that, I focused on all the routines that other guards went along with, trying to find the best possible way of getting your glove back to you.” John explained as he looked down to Balto's glove.
“So after a year of planning, I managed to get your glove out of the treasury room and into your food. I’ll admit, getting your glove into the same bowl you were given was a pure stroke of good luck, heh.” John finished, turning away to look on ahead in the direction they were walking in.
“I see...” Balto whispered to himself as he looked down to his glove, suddenly aware of what his friend had gone through to help.
“So what was it like, living on one of their worlds?” Balto asked, curious as to what their style of life was like since he had been in jail all this time.
“Ehh. It was alright. They were very strict with their laws, though. Hardly any garbage to be seen anywhere along their walkways. Everyone always seemed to be secretly afraid. I guess they knew what their own police force was capable of. “John answered, secretly feeling sorry for the few friends he made back on that other world.
Davey spotted some dim lights off in the distance, he squinted his eyes just to be sure, but as a cloud of sand blew away he became certain that there was something over there.
“Over there, over there! I see something!” Davey announced, excited to see some form of civilization, even if it was the enemy's. Davey ran towards the lights, despite being miles away. The chain extended to the point where Tina was being dragged.
“Hey, slow down. We still have a ways to go yet!” Balto yelled with a smile, happy to see that they were still full of energy.
“I guess we should run after them, huh?” John asked Balto, as he turned to face him.
“Guess so. . .” Balto replied. He inhaled and exhaled to ready himself for the run. A moment later, he sprinted off, his feet digging into and kicking up the hot sand. John started to jog and worked his way up to a sprint to catch up with them.
Balto looked back to John and smiled.
“What’s wrong, John? You getting to fat to run?” Balto mocked John as he began pick up speed.
“Heh, I haven’t heard that joke in a while.” John chuckled.
As they ran towards the lights, they started to become much brighter, and the sight of a gargantuan steel wall rose over the horizon as they closed in. Multiple buildings and towers could be seen behind the wall, and small, single-manned aircraft patrolled the area around the base. These aircraft were long and skinny, with two wings that extended outward; Each arm had a set of two propellers, one turning clockwise, and the other counter clockwise. The cockpits of the aircrafts were obscured by tinted black windows. Just below the cockpit were a set of spotlights that scanned over the surface, and along their wings were a set of powerful plasma-based machine guns that could rip through three inches of steel like butter.
“Hold on, guys!” John yelled as soon as he saw the swarm of aircraft floating around the base, “We’ll be torn apart if we aren’t careful.” He said as he came to a stop from his run. The others stopped as well.
“Really? From what?” Balto asked, curious as to what he thought would tear them apart.
“Those, up there.” John answered as he pointed to the aircraft above the base.
“We can take em’! What are those things anyway?” Balto asked.
“Those are Helix Strikers, The Grankade’s main aerial-to-ground-support aircraft. They are deadly in a frontal assault. I’ve seen how they work back on the planet I lived on for a few years. They used a couple of those things to kill off a rebellious uprising. Those poor people, they never stood a chance.” John answered, shaking his head at the thought of the slaughter he had witnessed back in the day.
“Alright, so how do you propose we get past them then?” Balto asked, crossing his arms in frustration.
John surveyed the base for a low security entrance when he spotted a drainage pipe to the far left of the massive steel wall.
“Over there. We can get through the wall by going through the pipe over there,” John said as he pointed in the pipe's direction, “But we need to stay out of sight as much as we possibly can.” John explained
“Stay behind the sand dune as best as you can. If we’re lucky, we’ll be able to get through without being noticed.” John said as he pointed to the dune nearest to the pipe.
“Alright, let’s go!” Balto said as he swiftly went around the sand dune. Both John and the Chain Twins followed suit, their footsteps barely leaving a mark in the sand. Suddenly, a Helix Striker passed right over their heads, its four propellers chopping through the wind. Balto, grabbing the Chain Twins, quickly pushed himself into the sand dune to stay out of sight. John did the same. As the Helix Striker left the area, Balto rose out from the side of the sand dune to scan the area.
“It’s all clear.” Balto whispered to the others. They came out of the sand dune and continued their path to the drainage pipe. Once they reached the pipe, they were met with a rusty fence that blocked their way. Strange, greenish-yellow, fat worms slithered all around it, feeding off of a dark brown liquid that slowly poured out of its base, forming a large puddle in front of it.
“Oh, does that ever look pleasant.” Balto said sarcastically.
“Yeah, you don’t want to touch these things, they’re highly poisonous. “ John said as he shot each worm at once with a bust of energy. He then created a long, thin rod of energy that was about the size and shape of a number two pencil, using it to cut off the bars one by one until the gate gave way and fell into the puddle, creating a large splash that got all over the Chain Twins and Balto's legs.
“Ehhgg, what is this stuff?” Balto asked as he shook his legs to get the brown liquid off.
“What do you think it is?” John replied with a grin as he began to hop into the pipe.
“Wonderful. . .” Balto muttered with his eyebrows lowered. He was not amused that he had to walk through the enemy's waste to get into their base.
Balto climbed into the pipe after john, and so did the Chain Twins. Tina grabbed the fence that John had cut off and pulled it back out of the puddle, jamming it into the pipe to make it appear that it wasn’t breached. As they crawled through the pipe, they came across another batch of those same worms. But they looked different this time around; They were a reddish colour and emitted a dull red glow that lit up the inside of the pipe. Along the tops of them, strange insect claws were sluggishly crawling their way out of the worms’ backs.
“What the hell are these things, John?” Balto asked, becoming quite disgusted with them.
“They call these things Sharlels. Think of rats, they seem to get everywhere, and are quite dangerous if they aren’t taken care of quickly. Usually when they suspect that there might be a nest, they burn the place out. But I’m surprised that they haven’t found this one yet. Don’t worry; they aren’t poisonous when they are in this stage of development. The light they give off just gives the impression that they are. But once they hatch, they’ll be like huge mosquitoes. They get twice as poisonous as when they were in their larva form.” John explained without stopping. He wanted to get out of there as fast as he could, he knew it wouldn’t be long until those things hatched. The Chain Twins on the other hand, had fun squishing the insects.
They finally made it to the end of the pipe which led to a filtering plant within the base. The place was filled with multiple different intertwining pipes that extended out of the plant and all throughout the base. Automatic machines took care of the job with processing and filtering waste from the base as it came in. Walkways between some machines were placed overhead on different levels.
Grandkade workers dressed in white armour worked on the machines, having no weapons on them other than a net-like thing that would be used to fish things out of the pipes that would otherwise damage the machines. The workers wore tinted, glass, dome-like helmets over their heads, and breathing apparatuses were attached to the front of their helmets, with two tubes looped around to their backs where they each had a personal air filter.
John and the others opened a hatch in one of the lower, larger pipes within the plant. John was the first to exit out the pipe, holding the latch open so that Balto and the Chain Twins could get out withou the latch hitting their faces.
“I wish we could have found a better way to get in to this place. I’ll never be able to get this smell out of my fur.” Balto complained as he gave himself a whiff, nearly puking from the awful stench.
“You’ll get used to it.“ John said as he scanned the area for any soldiers.
“Alright, the area is clear. The exit should be this way.” John said as he ran down a narrow corridor.
“Wait, how do you know this?” Balto asked, curious as to how John knew exactly where he was heading.
“Look on the floor.” John answered as he turned the corner. Balto looked down and saw a small sign painted on the floor reading “EXIT” in big bold letters with a yellow line going down the corridor that John ran down.
Balto and the Chain Twins ran down the corridor and caught up with John, who hid behind a large hanger-like door that lead out of the plant and into an open area within the base. Multiple unmanned tanks could be seen parked along another building across from them. Hundreds of soldiers and light vehicles were moving around in the area, keeping them from leaving the plant.
“So, any ideas on how to get out of here, John?” Balto asked dryly.
“I’m thinking. They all probably know who we are and what we look like, so we won’t be able to hide in the crowds.” John said as watched the soldiers' movements.
“Probably.” Balto added.
“Okay, we need to get to a higher level.” John said as he ran for a staircase across the doorway from them. John was careful to not be seen, hiding by a pile of crates that were lined up by a wall. He waited a moment for the crowd of soldiers to thin out, then swiftly sprinted for the staircase. Balto followed close behind him, while the Chain Twins just threw themselves over the door and down in front of the staircase, creating a loud thud from their weight hitting the floor. Balto and John clenched up, thinking that their cover was blown as the echo from the Chain Twins' thud went through the plant.
“You guys mind being a little quieter?” John asked, hoping that they wouldn’t hop around like that again.
They both looked at one another, then back at John, and nodded.
“Ok, let’s keep going then. “John said as he climbed up the staircase. They passed a few windows beside the walkway they were now on. John paid no attention to the outside while Balto stopped to take a gander, but stayed hidden so that no one outside would notice him.
“Fall in, everyone!” A familiar voice hollered outside. All the soldiers that were in the wide open space quickly got in line. Balto's ears perked as soon as he heard the familiar voice. A woman in red armour walked out in front of the collective soldiers that stood in a square-like formation.
“John!” Balto whispered loudly.
“What is it?” John replied as he stopped in his tracks to look back at Balto.
“Get over here. There’s something you need to see.“ Balto said as he waved his arm over to him. John hunched over to keep hidden from the soldiers as he made his way over to Balto.
“What is it?” John repeated.
“That person there, isn’t that. . .?” Balto asked quietly as he pointed to the woman in red armour.
“Terra?!” John said to himself in disbelief.

“Yeah, and we're not kids!” Shackles yelled, becoming a little irritated at being called a kid. “We’re teenagers.” I like that part.

I like how you gave the Brawlers their characteristic ridiculous resistance to damage.

Would have sure loved to have seen all that. Show, don't tell bro.

So im passed my writers block now. Edited by grim. Chapter 5: GoodbyeAngelface struggled to slowly open her eyes, her vision blurred from being unconscious for so long. Sweat slowly formed and slid off her pale forehead as she looked around trying to figure out where she was. She panted heavily from the sharp pain all over her body. When her vision began to clear, she finally recognised McJesus and her daughter who sat at her bedside. “Hey, you finally woke up.” McJesus whispered with a smile, grateful to see her open her eyes. “H-hi. . .how long was. . .I out?” Angelface said, struggling to get every word out. “A few days or so, I’ve been told.” He replied as he looked back at the others in the room, who tried to mind their own business but couldn’t help but over hear their conversation. “How are you feeling, mommy?” Suzy asked, her voice trembling with excitement to finally see her awake. Angelface looked over to Suzy with her loving eyes. She slowly reached up and placed her right hand on Suzy’s right cheek. “Mommy. . .is st-still very sick. . .Suzy. But. . .I’m g-getting better.” Angelface assured, hoping cheer up her family. Shackles and Drychris both sat on an ugly orange sofa that face towards the large flat screen TV, watching the family of three and feeling sorry for the rough times they seemed to be going through. Took Man and Cobb were on a blue sofa that faced away from McJesus, minding their own business they watched the news for any updates about any other Brawlers still within the city. Shackles turned his head to face Took Man. “So. . .what exactly is going on around here? Why are you guys being hunted down, and what happened to her?” Shackles asked, sounding quite depressed about the topic. “Um. . .Where to begin.” Took Man said as he rubbed his tired eyes. “Well, you see. Five years ago some of our astronomers picked up these multiple pings suddenly appearing over the northern hemisphere of the White Void. About thirteen in total I think. . .I’m not to sure, it’s been a while since that day and I can’t remember every little detail about it. Well, anyway. One day after those pings were discovered, they began to descend and orbit around our city. Then it happened, they began to bomb us for no apparent reason. Within the first few hours, nearly half of our city was reduced to rubble, thousands were either dead or missing. And so in response to the looming threat, all the Brawlers went on the attack and brought most of their ships down." He paused for a moment, almost hesitant to relive the memory. "At first, we all thought we were winning the battle. But then they called for reinforcements. Well over a thousand ships suddenly appeared over the White Void. They began to send down wave after wave of drop ships to the surface and literally just tore the city to pieces. We were all forced to retreat underground. After that, we formed an underground network that connected most the important spots of the city. For a while we were safe, along with a hefty amount of survivors.” Took Man explained while glancing back at the TV. “But then rumors of Brawlers actually dying began to spread throughout the network, and that just drained whatever little hope any of us had left. And they knew that.” Took Man added, clenching his left hand into a fist. “Wow. . .You guys really went through hell, did you?” Drychris said as he leaned back in the sofa. Took Man continued, ignoring what the green boy had said. “A week later of doing nothing but hit and run attacks; they had discovered some of the key areas in our underground network and began to gas us out, then mowed us down when we reached the surface. Most of us were forced to retreat back up to the surface and hide within what was left of our city. Later on in that day, an announcement came from some of their low orbit ships, giving us a choice of either to surrender or die. . . “A little while later, another announcement came from the ships once again, but this time the person behind the announcement said that Balto surrendered the city. After that, no one has heard from him. We all assume that he’s just hiding somewhere.” Took Man said as he leaned back in his sofa and stared up to the ceiling. “Now during these five years, they have been spreading lies about us, saying that we’re monsters and that our only goal is to destroy their way of life. This propaganda had turned our own people against us. Even though we surrendered, they still want us gone so now they’re hunting us down, one by one.” Took Man finished, as he sat back up to face the TV. “So what are your plans now?” Shackles asked, hoping for some kind of good news. “To hide and live another day.” Cobb blurted out bitterly, interrupting their conversation. “What he said.” Took Man said as he nodded his head towards Cobb, “Well at least until we can think of something better to do.“ Took Man added as he rubbed his eyebrows in a stressed manner. “Uhh, guys. . .Isn’t that Wires on the TV there?!” Krten asked as he walked up to the sofas that Shackles, Drychris, Took Man and Cobb were sitting on. Everyone looked over to the TV to see Wires frantically swinging between buildings as the media camera followed him, along with several fast, very maneuverable droids. Engines on their backside gave out a light blue glow as they pushed the droids along. Each of them had five long, thin metallic arms, and each arm had a pair of sharp, bent claws that seemed to be used to grapple onto any type of surface. Their arms fluttered behind them, motionless unless they needed to grapple onto something, at which point the droid snapped their arms to life and grappled onto the surface as if they were some kind of spider. Each of them had a set of bright red eyes that locked on to Wires' every movement. And just below their eyes was a high powered cannon that could cut through any type of metal as if it were warm butter. These droids were about nine feet long if stretched out evenly, and five feet tall if lying down. The legs themselves were four feet long. Wires swung from under pathways and through the horribly congested traffic, pulling out support beams from his weight, which caused some pathways to collapse and knocked vehicles out of the air, causing them to spiral out of control and hurdle down to the surface. “This is a live feed from media cam #1395, it seems the police forces have discovered Target #035 and are in hot pursuit to apprehend this criminal. We will try to stay with them as best as we can. It’s only a matter of time before this thing is caught.” The news anchorwoman announced as she watched the screen intently along with their viewers. Wires pulled several sharp turns between some tight squeezed skyscrapers, hoping to lose the droids. But they latched onto the building, their claws digging into the steel walls, and quickly hopped along the flat ninety degree surfaces with ease. Once clear of the buildings, they bolted off after Wires once again, leaving scorch marks on the walls by the heat from their engines; their speed seemingly unaffected by the sudden maneuvers. “You are under arrest. Stop resisting and submit quietly!” A loud voice announced, which came from a one of five Helix Strikers which hovered over the city, keeping a bird’s eye view of where Wires was heading. Suddenly, the droids began to fire their cannons. The head droid shot first and a split second later, the rest joined in. The energy beams hit other buildings and vehicles that got in their way as Wires did his best to dodge each blast, until one of the lasers hit the wire he was using to swing from a sign he had grabbed onto. It tore through like butter, severing it instantly. Wires began to fall to the surface, completely out of control. He swung his other wires around, trying to grab onto anything that could stop his fall, slashing through windows, lights, and a few unfortunate vehicles that were in his way. Wires fell onto a large walkway, creating a crater along with a cloud of dust around him. The crater nearly broke the walkway in half. Civilians that were on the walkway frantically fled from Wires as fast as they could, a few of which weren’t watching where they were going and fell off the edge and plummeted to the surface. Wires lifted himself up and began to slither his way across the walkway and towards a park surrounded by small shops and coffee houses. The droids bolted down towards Wires like a swarm of angry bees, firing off their cannons which tore through the ground he slithered along. Clumps of dirt sprung up in the air from the pressure of the blasts, trees were set ablaze, the fine cut grass slowly burned away. Ignoring the chaos raining down from above, Wires set his sights on a particular coffee shop just a few yards away. Once clear of the park and onto the sidewalk, he showed no signs of slowing down. He curled most of his wires around him to act as a shield and then threw himself through the large tinted windows of Ruby's Café. The windows shattered, glass flew everywhere; customers in the coffee shop ditched their beverages and ran out an alternative exit to get away from him as fast as they could. Ruby had no idea what had just happened and ducked under the work counter for cover along with her co-worker. “Shit, now he’s going to get her involved!” Permafrost shouted as he walked up to the TV, watching quite intently. Wires unraveled himself and slashed his wires around, completely shattering the work counter and exposing both Ruby and her co-worker. Ruby clenched up and tried to keep herself from screaming in terror as she heard the cracking of the counter top that defended her. The very point of the wires created a gash through the back of her shirt to show how close he was from hitting her. Shaking, she slowly turned around to see what invaded her coffee shop, and when she saw Wires’ innocent, lazy looking black eye, a sensation of relief came over her and she relaxed a little. As for her co-worker, she had been accidentally thrown through the wall and knocked unconscious. “Wires. . .!? W-what are you doing here!?” She said, scared to think what would happen if they were caught together. Wires gave off multiple frantic buzzing sounds that only other Brawlers could really understand. “Wh-what? I was target? But. . .but how?! I kept such a low profile; how could they have figured it out?!” She rambled hysterically, terrified. How long had they known? Suddenly an explosion tore through the ceiling of the café. Support beams that held it up fell to the floor, shingles that were along the roof were turned to dust, the big sign on the roof had been blown right off, and the letters laid, fractured all over the outside of the café. “Targets’ #035 and #178, surrender, you are surrounded. If you resist, you will be terminated.” A voice announced from a Helix Striker over head. Dozens of drop ships containing platoons of soldiers. Each one held about thirteen soldiers, all of them armed with powerful, armor-piercing weapons. The drop ships looked much like armored APC’s, three red rectangular windows sat at the front where the pilots would be. On the top of the drop ships were a set of machine guns, the same ones the Helix Strikers used. The guns were on both Brawlers. Red lasers sights that were just below the actual barrels pointed right at them, and multiple red dots appeared all over the two. Once the ships came to a low orbit around the park, the sides opened up like large mouth ready to take a bit out of something large. The soldiers hopped out and formed a circle around the café and aimed their weapons at the Brawlers. The droids that were tailing Wires orbited overhead like a pack of vultures, their guns fixed on Wires' head. “Well this is a surprise, it appears that the police force has rounded up two targets this time around, and from what they’ve said, they’ve known about the other one for quite some time now!” The news anchor commented as she kept watch on the ever unfolding scoop. “Now what. . .” Ruby whispered, drawing a blank for a plan of escape, her eyes shifting to every enemy in her view. Out of nowhere, a massive chunk of skyscraper crashed through the air, crushing five drop ships along with their recently released passengers, followed by multiple bolts of lightning that struck each droid and a wave of fire that vaporized nearly every soldier on the ground. “What the hell, we're under attack! I repeat, we are under attack by an unknown enemy, we need reinforcements!” One of the surviving soldiers on the ground said just before a pipe that was torn off the side of a building impaled him like a spear. A tail of flame that stretched from a nearby building quickly made its way down to Wires and Ruby. On the flame was Inferno, riding along the flame barefoot. His brother, Bolt, rode beside him on the flame, using his massive sword like a surfboard. “Go for the flying things, I’ll take out the rest on the ground.” Bolt ordered as he maneuvered his sword in such a way that it made him leap off the flame. “With pleasure. . .” Inferno replied with a bloodthirsty grin, directing the tail of flame towards the three Helix Strikers. He held the hilt of the sword up to his face and pointed the blade out in front of him as he charged at the Helix Strikers. The three Helix Strikers attempted to pull out of the way in response with Inferno’s charge, but weren’t able to react in time. Inferno passed right by the first Striker, and held his sword out to his side, letting it make a clean cut through the cockpit, cutting the pilot in half. He then manipulated the flame he rode on to form a loop which he used to ride right over top the second, using the same move as before, but this time creating a huge gash in the middle of the Helix Striker, destroying vital wiring that eventually caused its core to overload and detonate. Inferno snatched a propeller that flew right by him, from the Striker that had just blown up, and swung it like a throwing knife towards the cockpit of the third Helix Striker. A splatter of blood hit the window as it pierced through the cockpit. Bolt took his sword out from under his feet and positioned it so the blade pointed downward as he headed for the ground. Once he hit the ground, his sword sliced through the metal sidewalk, and Bolt released a pulse of lightning from his sword. It spread out through the walkway and electrocuted the remaining soldiers on the ground. The only thing that was seemingly unharmed was the media cam that kept its distance from all the action. The anchor woman shook her head to all the carnage. “You see? This is why we have to stop these monsters. All they do is kill our people.” she remarked. “Yeah, well. . .You’re an ugly shit.” Glace muttered angrily in response to the television. Permafrost eyed the scene, hoping to see their oldest brother pop out in a matter of seconds after the fight, but he never did. “Where is he?” He whispered to himself. “You guys alright?” Bolt asked as he walked over to Ruby and Wires, swinging his sword over his shoulder. “Yeah. . .you guys got here just in time.” Ruby said, as she put her hands on her head and looked around at all the bodies. A second later, Inferno hit the floor in what was left of the café like a rock, shattering the decorative tiles placed covering the actual surface beneath. “Is that it?” Inferno asked as he stood up straight after the fall, “I was just getten warmed up!” He boasted with a vicious smile on his face while he looked around at all the deceased soldiers around the café. “Yeah, for now anyway. We can’t stay here for long. They’ll be sending a force twice the size of what we just fought off, and this time we won’t have the element of surprise on our side.” Bolt said, eyeing the sky for anything out of the ordinary. An object silhouetted by the sunlight appeared slowly, looming over the tallest skyscrapers adjacent from the broken down coffee shop. “That doesn’t look good. . .” Bolt said as he slowly backed up. “Targets #035, #178 #590 and #332! A warrant for your execution has been placed. You have two choices: Die quietly and reduce the amount of damage done to the city, or run away like the cowards you are.” A loud and very intimidating voice said over a PA system from within the ship overhead. “Get Ruby out of here! We’ll hold this thing off.” Bolt ordered as he grabbed the sword off of his back and swung it forward. “What? Wait!” Ruby yelled just as Wires wrapped a wire around Ruby and placed her on his back, slithering through the Café and towards the back, breaking down the thin, decorative wooden walls. He burst out through the back and entered the staff parking lot. He looked around and spotted an assortment of pipes along the side of the nearest building. He shot out a wire and took hold and then began to swing through the city like before. A massive door on the underside of the warship opened up. A bright blue light poured out, and a moment later a swarm of what looked like bugs began to fly out. They were droids. Thousands flew out, half of which began to span out across the sky, scanning every crevice of the city for Wires and Ruby, while the other half headed right for Bolt and Inferno, their weapons charged and ready to fire. “You ready, Inferno?” Bolt asked with a smile as he readied himself for the oncoming fight. He laughed. "I was born ready.” Bolts of energy began to rain down, tearing apart what was left of the café, among many other buildings surrounding them. “Let’s do this!” Bolt yelled as a burst of lightning exploded out from under his feet, propelling him towards the swarm. Inferno did the same thing but used fire instead. Ruby looked on as the droids overhead began to blacken the sky, losing hope at the thought that escape was still possible. Then, Ruby heard multiple explosions from behind her and turned around to see what was happening. She noticed multiple lightning bolts and blasts of fire spouting out in random directions back over by the café. Suddenly, bolts of energy struck the surrounding buildings that Wires swung along. Civilians from within were blown out, some fell to the surface, while others were knocked out by the blast and were left to die in their burning homes. Several droids did a nose dive towards Wires, their arms pointed out in front, ready to latch onto him. Wires swung, left to right, bashing himself along the sides of buildings as he attempted to dodge the droids attacks, few of which were a successful, but two were able to get on his back. They dug their claws into Wires' metal body, and a jolt of pain went through him, causing him to let out a high-pitched buzz. One droid took one of its arms and thrusted it towards Ruby. Ruby turned around and grabbed onto the arm and struggled to push it back, but it was too strong for her. She quickly looked around at its other legs for a way to knock it off of Wires. She let go of the arm and rolled out of the way, grabbing onto one of Wires' loose wires and swinging around behind the droid, and she jumped up on its head and stabbed her hand through one of its eyes, shattering the lens. Ruby then grabbed onto a fist full of wires and pulled them out, severing them in half. The droid, now losing power, released its grip on Wires and fell off, lifeless. Wires whipped at the other droid that was latched onto him, ripping it apart. Its pieces joined the other droid in the fall to the surface. “That was a close one, huh, Wires?” Ruby said jokingly, trying to catch her breath. Suddenly an energy blast from another droid pierced right through Wires' torso, blowing a large hole through him. Molten metal from his frame slowly slid off and chipped away. The blast weakened Wires so much that he released his grip and went into free fall towards a small plateau between three large corporation skyscrapers. On the plato were hundreds of businessmen and women, either on their lunch break, or making their way to a one of many walkways that went out in different directions. In the center was a nice, decorative fountain where a few other civilians sat and had their lunch. Wires crash landed on the fountain, shattering it to pieces and sending those who sat on it flying. The water and concrete that made up the fountain flew in every direction. Ruby was thrown off and hit the ground hard, a yard away from Wires. Disoriented, Ruby slowly staggered to her feet, injured from the fall. A sharp pain spiked through her left leg, causing her to fall to her knees. She looked around to find where she was. All the civilians around kept their distance from them, watching on to see what the Brawlers would do. Ruby paid no attention to them, she looked over to Wires who rested, motionless, in what was left of the fountain; the pumps still worked, pumping water that poured all over Wires’ metal frame. Ruby slowly stood back up, careful of her leg, and limped over to Wires. She placed her hand on his head and began to gently jostle it around. “Wires? Wires! Wake up. Please wake up! Wires!" She pleaded, as tears began to run down her face. A group of eight droids flew over and orbited around Wires, their altitude slowly decreasing until they landed. They surrounded the two Brawlers like statues; someone had ordered them to not attack. Over between some of the massive skyscrapers, a single drop ship flew over and slowly drifted down to the plato, thirty meters away from the circle of droids. The side that faced towards Ruby opened up revealing a single person holding onto a brace within the drop ship. He hopped out. He wore an unusual set of red armor, much different from any of the other soldiers the Brawlers have seen before. He had a weapon attached to his back. It was a sword: It had a long gray blade that was slightly tinted blue, a blue hilt that looked like it was from an old civilization, which had multiple different colored gems positioned around the edges of the hilt and down the center, just below the blade itself. He wore a helmet that obscured his face, three rectangular lights that were placed across the helmet where the eyes would be were glowing a bright yellow. He walked over to Ruby, the droids stepping aside respectfully so he could get through. Ruby looked over to the soldier, seemingly not afraid of him. He took the sword off his back and swung it over. Ruby let go of Wires and took a step back as the man approached her. Now two feet apart from each other, he took off his helmet. Ruby’s eyes widened to see a recognizable face behind the helmet. “El-Element. . .” She said in disbelief. “Target #178” His tone is dull and disciplined. “You have been terminated.” He quickly thrusted his sword through Ruby’s stomach. The tip of the blade passing right through and extending twelve inches out from her back. He twisted the sword twenty five degrees before quickly pulling it out. Ruby hunched over from the sudden pain, blood gushing out from her wound. She staggered back and fell on all fours. Blood began to drip from her mouth, and she gasped for air, trying to fight off the pain. She slowly looked up to Element standing over her, giving her an emotionless look as if it were all just business to him. Ruby was stunned; she couldn’t think of why another Brawler would do this. “W-wh-y. . .Wh-y. . .would you do this.” She muttered, gagging on her own blood. “You are an enemy of the Empire and therefore must be exterminated. Now die already!” He replied, raising his voice slightly as he took another stab at Ruby, this time the blade passed through her chest and pierced her heart. Ruby lost the last of her strength and just fell to the ground. With her vision beginning to go black, she looked at one of Wires' wires which were slowly moving over to Ruby’s hand to say goodbye. Ruby gently gripped the wire just as the last of her life faded away. Element stood there for a moment and glanced at the two. He then took his helmet and placed it back on his head, swinging his sword over and back onto his back. He pressed a pad-like button on the side of his helmet and began to speak. “This is Officer #77. Target #178 has been terminated. Target #035 has been incapacitated; requesting extraction." He said over a comm channel. “Rodger that, an LCF is in route. Stand by.” Another voice replied.[/ Reason for Editing: Plato was a poet. Plateau is a french word that means a flat area in what is otherwise angled. I think you meant the latter.
