"Great. More papers to sign..." Robert said anxiously. He signed up and stood in position 6, readying himself for the upcoming event.

"Di-ana, Co-land. Alright." Said Diana while handing the pen back. She took position 7.

Sarah read and signed the papers in complete silence, moving fluidly to the start room. She leaned on the west wall, just south of the door to the arena proper. She didn't speak, and seemed to be lost in her own thoughts, as if meditating.

Conrad signed the papers quickly, then proceeded to push past the taller blonde fellow and the freak with the tights. He rushed to the second position and began bracing himself.

(I forgot that Krten's character was named Robert, so the character I had previously called Robert is now retconned to be Stan) James closed and locked the door to the ready room behind Conrad. The room was small, but not uncomfortably so; two more people could have easily fit without anyone getting claustrophobic.
The P. A. speaker in the room crackled for a moment before Stan's voice came through it. "One more thing I forgot to mention," he said, "there's not really a good way of putting these Machination bots on alert without getting shot at, so we're letting you have the element of surprise on your side. Consequently, I won't be taking any pity on anyone who gets knocked out. Now, get to it."At this last phrase, the second door of the ready room opened to reveal a well-lit, white and gray room with scattered pieces of scrap metal and other large pieces of junk for use as cover. Luckily for the combatants, the floor and walls were dark enough that the humans didn't stand out enough to be instantly identified as enemies by the drones. The fighters all paused for a moment to take in what of the environment they could from their limited vantage. Ultimately, Mia was the first to act...Turn Order:Mia "Kid" Sunsworth Electric Green (unknown enemy) Conrad Grayson Diana Coland Robert Warburtons (3x unknown enemy) Cassandra Saffer (2x unknown enemy) How to BattleActions:A | B | C | - Move (movement range is 5 + (your speed/5) [rounded down]) (MVG and Candy can move for 6, everyone else is still at 5 for now)
- Sneak (move for up to half your normal movement range (rounded down again), but with half the chance of being seen by an enemy)
| - Attack
- Switch weapons
- Peek around a corner (check for enemies as though you were one block to the side of your current location)
- Use First Aid (on you or someone next to you)
- Use an item (again, on you or someone next to you)
| - Hide (no movement, but half the chance of being seen if you haven't already been detected)
- Sprint (move for 1.5 times your normal movement (for example, move for 9 if your standard move is 6), but with a 100% chance of detection if you cross the line of sight of an enemy)
|
Your options each turn are: - Perform an action from column A
- Perform an action from column B
- Perform an action from column A, then one from B
- Perform an action from column B, then one from A
- Perform an action from column C
Don't repost the map every turn. I plan to post the map every time an enemy has a turn, and even then I feel like it might get cluttered. Instead, say you "took 5 steps West" or something. You can assume that on any battle map, up is North. Reminder: you can pass through squares occupied by your allies, but you can not end your movement on an occupied square. Also, you can only move horizontally or vertically; diagonal movement requires you to move twice. I forgot to label each weapon's range in the first post, but all the starter weapons have a range of 1, so at the moment you can only attack something right next to you. A piece of advice on First Aid: those who are inexperienced in medicine may actually end up harming the person they are trying to heal. You may want to consider using your items first. There are a number of things that can affect stealth. I mentioned that the various methods of movement (or lack thereof) can increase or decrease your stealth. In addition to movement effects, the battlefield itself can help or hurt your chances for hiding, as well as the enemy's awareness of your presence. Dark environments will double the stealth of all participants in the battle, but if there is a light shining on you in an otherwise dark environment, your stealth will be half of its normal value. If an enemy is alerted to your presence or the presence of someone near you, your stealth will be half of its normal value. Enemies will be alerted if your stealth check fails while you're in their line of sight. Certain panels (such as metal floors or alarm panels) can also cause enemies to be alerted to your presence. For the most part, I'll let you know if there are any special considerations on the map (aside from traps, which may happen). I think that's it for now. Good luck! Reason for Editing: Removing Candy's character as well as one of the enemies from the turn order.

"Move aside, little girl. I have no time to look ahead, heroes must take action!"
Electric Green shoved himself past Mia and through the door, moving through the battlefield with confidence and without hesitation.
Move north 1 Move West 4
Green adjusted his eyepiece, beginning by unscrewing it from it's base on his mask. "I hope this was worth the money I spent on it." Green pulled a computer chip from a hidden compartment on his eyepiece. He grinned at it from behind his mask before slipping it back into the compartment, then tightening the eyepiece again, as small arcs of electricity jolted through it.

Unfortunately, Electric Green's costume being far from subtle, one of the drones detected his presence immediately. It was a Machinations, Inc. 100-series Combat Drone. Most of the challengers had at least seen them on TV, but its presence hardly carried over. It was about seven and a half feet in height, and had a massive frame that covered its power source in its chest, as well as a number of important systems. Its head was egg-shaped, with the wider back end housing the cameras that functioned as its eyes. Its arms were thick with synthetic muscles, and were about as powerful as a professional weight lifter's. Its legs were outfitted with the more stable traditional motor mechanisms of the past, and had wide, three-toed feet at their ends. Around its waist was a shield, which Machinations elected to keep separate from the internal workings of the bot so that the shield could be swapped out or upgraded without a complete overhaul of the bot. This one was different from the ones that usually appeared on TV, however. It was mostly white like the "regular" drones, but instead of the standard red trim, this one was green. Also, the "100-S" that was usually on the drone's shoulder was replaced by a "100-T" on this model.
The drone beeped incoherently to alert the other bots on the field, then lumbered towards the group...(this is after the 100-T moved south 5 spaces) By the way, talking is a free action, so feel free to complain at Electric Green if your character would.

with the wider back end housing ((Baby got back)) "Way to go, fuckstick. Hope you like being a hugeass target," Conrad griped a bit. Clenching a hand on his vibrablade, Conrad hurried through the doorway.
Move 5 west
If worse came to worse, at least Electric Green could be used as a good distraction and or meat shield while Conrad cut the fucking head off that robot.
