I'll say I've been doing fine these past years. As of right now I haven't been doing all too much; just sitting with unemployment during these uncertain times, and streaming video games and the like. I had also been entering a large amount of Smash tournaments before quarantine had started, and I intend to return to that when we're all able to go out again one day. I have relative stability right now, and I'm generally able to keep myself in good spirits, so no sweat here for the most part. I hope everyone else has been keeping well, too!
I've said this before and I'll say it again, it's definitely a bit mellowing that this site just kind of quietly phased away, but at the least, I do have a lot of fond memories of the time we spent here, and on the original Newgrounds thread. And I certainly hope that people feel the same, both about the site and myself. I'll have to apologize if I shoveled out too much teenage angst during my heyday here too though! Anyway for now, I keep up to speed by checking out the new site Des made every once in a while, and I just joined up with their Discord channel, just for the sake of keeping in touch.
(Also Mega, I can't say with certainty because my memory is god-awful, but I absolutely do not remember you being unpleasant to consort with around this site, so I'd say don't worry too much about it.)

I'm not sure if anyone still looks at this site, but I figured I should just drop this here, the progress I had on my response before I gave up on it: The beginning portion was going to be Numbers pondering on how Rialto was able to react to and dodge the falling building, since most of the previous image was spent making sure Rialto's back was turned to it. He would've forgiven and forgot though, since Rialto AGAIN used another energy-boosted attack (perhaps in the heat of the moment?), which would of course resulted in lowered damage. The part where the strip cuts off was going to have Numbers fake an attack to make Rialto flinch, only to use some form of grab maneuver instead and combo that into some sweet moves to knock him into a nearby casino (as a cool change of scenery). Rialto would bounce around the surroundings cartoon-style (such as him sliding across a bar table, past a very drunk McJesus, or landing on a slot machine that I imagine Grim and Wheeljack would be playing only to have the arm fling him elsewhere). It would all end with him landing in a giant Roulette wheel, with Numbers coming in for what looked like a decisive blow, when in actuality it would have been a dramatic placing of a bet on the roulette wheel. Rialto would land on 00 in a daze, and then the ball would land on his face, resulting in the legendary 0000 and Numbers would have made bank and proceed to turn into a memelord (which is what that picture at the end is). I thought it would have been cool, but the site died. Ah well.

I never really had any drive to pursue art as a life thing. I mainly drew and contributed to this site myself because it was fun and all that. That said, I do like to think that it improved me a little bit in that regard. However, I more appreciate this site for being an additional and a much, much, MUCH more civil social outlet than Newgrounds back when I still frequented that site.

I quite literally air camp every matchup I can't play grounded neutral against with gratuitous amounts of Nair
But as far as Falcon goes just make sure you stay out of his Jab range at all costs, because Jab on hit or block gives him a guaranteed grab. Use up angled Ftilt if you think he's gonna come running at you with any kind of approach. And of course, watch out for the knee.
If you've fought any Marths with Falcon you probably already have a good idea on what Falcon doesn't like to fight against, and Charizard can emulate that gameplay to a reasonable extent.

I don't like how your opponent didn't attack back with his powers. Well, there was a reason for this. For the one time I had Rialto fight back in my scene, I had the setup of the two characters in a CQC scenario, back to back no less. Rialto and, unfortunately enough, my guy, both primarily have ranged assaults for most of our powers. I figure that, whenever this specific matchup gets up-close and personal like that, there's going to be more of a reliance on sweet moves rather than powers at that point.

Well, if nothing else, Des vs PM is the reason I drew something out of nowhere after a 4 year hiatus... ...a 4 year hiatus through which you still lurked almost daily for the vast majority of.

Well, maybe I'll draw something out of nowhere every four years or so lmao As a clarification, btw, it's an innate resistance to any attack that has someone directly using their own inner power to enhance their attacks, shoot projectiles, etc. If the attack involves something else like, fire, electricity, etc., then there's no resistance to be had there, although it is possible for my character to throw up a shield in an attempt to block it. You know, when this said it was the "rematch of the century," I didn't think it would actually mean it would take a century. There is a distinct possibility...

Yeah, the pencil has been adjusted so you can alter its size, so it's sorta like the pencil and old MS brush in one tool. The current brush has anti-aliasing, which is no good.
When using the pencil, you can also press Ctrl + if you need a size larger than what's provided, too.

I was reading through the old One Week Battle as well as a few other threads I had participated in in the past, and I couldn't help but notice how many times I pissed myself off looking at all of the wordy/stally/over-explainy(?) bullshit that I ended up using, when I could have handled everything more concisely and 100x less smart-assy.
When and if I truly make a comeback back onto the site, this will not happen again. My apologies to anyone traumatized by my past retardedness, sorry.

I would think that PM just advances with a bye in this case but which character will Nitro be throwing in here? The same one that's currently participating in Loser's Bracket, or someone else...?

There's no possible way I can enter, because I have a tremendous workload to handle for a long time, but I should put out there that I'm not dead, and ready to participate in all that judging stuff, since the mods took care of that last time and I assume it'll be the same this time around.
I've been doing a lot of lurking not posting so I figured I might as well put out that I'm actually alive, sorry about that.

Y'know, this isn't anywhere near how any you guys used to draw in 2007...
I know they're dated mostly in 2008, but check the threads in the last couple of pages of Main Arena/Grudge Matches, and you'll see what I mean.

Well, some people on the Internet are very gullible, plus I was bored and wanted a nostalgia rush from looking back on old pictures, etc etc etc w/e
I think the real question is why the option to save an image as a .bmp even exists when we have .png as a clearly superior option...

I just looked for one of the oldest images I could find on this site. This is 10 days away from being 4 years old and it still looks fine to me: Zoomed in, I can't see any .jpeg-ization of the image, and looking around at the other images from around that time, I can't see any .gif-ization of the colors in any of the images, either. A prime example of images not losing any image or color quality would be me vs. Rialto from all those years ago. That entire thread is almost 4 years old, too, and all of the .pngs in there have plenty of different colors to spare, and still look exactly the same.

Brawlers John12346 - Caster Spike - Monster
I was mulling over whether or not I would put Spike into Pacifist, but ultimately I had decided that, if I ever "truly" get back into this site, and I somehow end up using Spike again, I'm steering him far away from that passive-aggressive bullshit that I pulled in One Week Battle, because it caused a lot of unnecessary dialogue, and I'm pretty sure it annoyed a lot of people to put up with what I was doing anyway. Hell, even I got really annoyed with myself when I read OWB over again.
That aside, the Pacifist category is really iffy, because, if the point of the thread is to assign one class to each character, problems arise because it's very possible to have a nice array of powers for a character, but also satisfy the "Pacifist" role at the same time.

It's obviously at a lower quality, as the thread dictates it should be, but I'm seeing the subtle changes that are completely similar to Nitro's current style, is all...
