Now, I am aware that people enjoyed "Zombie Nation". I also understand that some folks wanted a continuation after the epilogue. Well, here it is.
May 17, 2026
I'm glad to get home and relax today. Work was the usual stuff, but that is always exhausting. How I managed to get an office job like this, I have no freaking idea. One of those things that just happened, I guess. And I thought college was preparing me to be a politician.
Oh, there was something new opening up! A museum! I think it opened up about a week ago. It's supposed to show all of the artifacts from the Great Conquering that happened as little as 14 years ago. I was only about 4 when that happened, so I don't remember any of it. It's open right now. I was going to take a quick nap and then make my way over there. I'll have to write about what I learned once I get back, but right now, I need some sleep.
The girl put down her pen and slapped the journal shut. This girl was nothing like the normal citizens of the city of Kylok. They all had skin and facial features of different colors, depending from person-to-person. All of the citizens, however, had four arms and legs and only women had hair of any sort. This girl had short, white hair, only two arms and only two legs. Her mouth was a deep purple color, her eyes were a shade of red and her skin was an almost-pure black.
The girl walked up from her small table. She was in a decent-sized room. The floor was made primarily of wooden planks, but there was a multicolored rug in the middle under the couch. The couch's left side pointed to a brick wall where the girl's large TV hung.
The girl kicked off her pure-white shoes and plopped down on the couch. She picked up the remote control that laid on the right arm of the couch and pointed it at the TV. It clicked on with a cooking show of some kind. The chef was making something with turkey, which had the girl disgusted. She tiredly flipped through the channels until she found a stand-up comedian. She chuckled at some of his jokes and slipped into sleep as she listened to him.

The city of Kylok was hustling and bustling. The smooth buildings shined with a brilliant gleam, despite their black or grey colors. The four-legged citizens were all rushing across the sidewalks, some of which were eating donuts or talking on cell phones while scurrying to their next destination. Hovering cars that were making hardly any progress as far as movement clogged up the asphault roads. Occasionally, a black-and-green ship would rocket over the skyscrapers above. This once ruined city was teeming with life again.
On the cracked, cement sidewalk, a beggar wearing a dirty cloth over his entire body held out his hand as pedestrians walked next to him. This beggar, too, was unlike the other citizens. Under that cloth, you couldn't make out anything on his face, but you could still tell he had only two arms and legs. No one seemed to acknoledge his existance. They all scurried away as he held out his hand. Some of them noticed, but only looked on with a sense of disgust.
One girl noticed the beggar as she rounded the corner. The girl had white hair, red eyes, a purple mouth and wore a small cap that was an odd pale green with a grey-and-black plaid skirt and white shoes. She would occasionally get an odd glance or two from the people around her, but no one accused her of anything.
She noticed the beggar sitting on the corner with his head hanging down. She reached into pockets in her skirt and pulled out a hand-full of coins. As she stepped next to the beggar, the coins made their way from her hand and plopped between his feet. The beggar looked up to see who was feeling so generous to see the girl walking past him.
The beggar started to slump back down, but did a double-take. He quickly stood and turned to face the girl.
"Young lady!" he called while waving at her. The girl looked back at the beggar, but stayed where she was standing.
"I appreciate this," he said as he jingled the coins in his hand.
The girl waved back and shyly answered with a "You're welcome".
She started walking off again when the beggar leaped after her. The girl jumped away from him when the beggar showed up at her side.
"Look, I gave you change," she said with skepticism. "What more do you want?"
"Oh, no money or anything," he said, "You look so familiar... I only wish to talk."
They stood in the middle of the hurried mob as they conversed.
"Oh... okay." the girl said, still skeptical. They walked together down the sidewalk. The beggar couldn't stop looking at the girl.
"So, how old are you, young lady?" the beggar asked.
"I'm... I'm 19."
"19, huh? May I ask your name?"
"My name's Maytak."
"Maytak... nice name."
"Thank you."
There was a bit of a silence as they walked. The beggar eventually asked "Do you have parents?"
It took Maytak a bit of time to answer back. But, eventually, she said "No... I'm an orphan."
"Hmph. You must've had parents at some point..."
"Of course I did. I was just too young to remember."
The beggar looked on with a deep sense of compassion. Maytak was soon feeling awkward as the beggar stared at her.
"...what are you looking at?"
The beggar looked away. "Oh, nothing..."
"You, know," the girl continued. "I never got a name from you."
"I'd rather not say it. At least not in public. I hope that okay with you."
Maytak was curious, but decided to be nice to the guy. "Uh... sure. That's okay."
The beggar sighed with relief. "Oh, good."
"I can't even see your face under that thing!" Maytak suddenly said. She reached over and tried to lift up the hood on his head. She got a glimpse of two, pure blue eyes before the beggar pulled the hood back down.
He looked away and at the ground. "Sorry, miss. I'm really not allowed to show my face in this city... not anymore."
Maytak answered back with a seemingly arbitrary response. "I got a look at your eyes. I swear that I've seen them before. Have we met?"
The beggar wouldn't answer. After a brief silence, the beggar stopped, Maytak with him. Eventually Maytak started walking again and waved back.
"It was good talking with you, sir! I hope to see you again."
Maytak was getting farther and farther away before the beggar ran after her again. Once she was in earshot, the beggar yelled after her.
"Young lady! By any chance, are you going anywhere today?"
Maytak looked back with a small smile. "I'm going to that new museum that opened today. Why?"
The beggar caught up with her. "You mind if I go with you? I want to show you something."
And with that, both Maytak and the beggar walked to this new museum in the city.
Maytak walked through the busy sidewalk with her newly-acquired friend, who she barely knew. As they walked together, multi-colored citizens scurried with them and past them on their four legs. Again, both of them would receive odd looks from other the people of Mylok.
Side-by-side, the beggar was about 6 inches taller than Maytak. He was looking forward at the ground with his arms tucked behind his back. Maytak looked up at him in curiousity, not knowing anything whatsoever about this man except for the fact that he was dirt poor (which was surprisingly rare in Mylok).
The beggar didn't seem to notice that Maytak was staring at him. He finally looked down at her when Maytak bumped into a passing citizen, who gave her a rude "Watch where you're going!" as it walked past. Looking embarrassed, Maytak looked forward to watch where she was going. The beggar looked back to the ground and huffed out a grieving sigh.
"What was that for?" Maytak asked.
"It's nothing," the beggar said. "I just can't stop thinking..."
"About wha-?"
"About the past." the beggar abruptly answered.
Maytak looked at the beggar for a time before she asked something else.
"Should I ask?"
"I'd prefer if you didn't. At least not right now. I'll tell you later."
After that statement, the two continued to walk down the sidewalk through hundreds of virus-people, not speaking to one another.

Rounding the corner, Maytak spotted the new museum. Restaurants and small shops took up the majority of the side of the road, but those eventually led to a large, marble building with a wide staircase that lead to the building's entrance, which was shaded under a small overhanging roof. The building was generally a half-capsule shape: the vertical, circular base topped with a round dome. A large rectangular plaque read, in bright green letters, "Great Conquering History Museum".
The building had a multitude of people filing into the building, many of which were accompanied by various children. The people left a side of the staircase open, which is where Maytak and the beggar walked.
"Ah, here it is!" Maytak anxiously mentioned.
Starting to feel excited, she stepped in front of the beggar as she bounded up the stairs. The beggar calmly and patiently stepped on each step, swinging the corresponding arm with each one.
At the top of the staircase were three revolving doors leading inside: one on on the left, another on the right, and one in the middle. The left door is where the two entered. Maytak entered first, but the beggar was close behind her.
Maytak walked inside to see a banner overhead reading "Welcome!!!" for all to see. Next to her, she was greeted by a dark green virus wearing sunglasses. He didn't say a word to her. He only watched as people walked inside and looked around at the exibhits all around the place.
The beggar pushed the door and bounded in behind the dumbfounded Maytak. She looked on at the museum in amazement. The beggar looked on with an emotionless stare.
"Is there no payment to get in?" the beggar asked.
Maytak never looked away from the place in front of her. "Nope! Apparently, this entire thing is government funded."
"That's a little odd, don't you think? I mean with what people do pay for-"
"Well, I welcome it. Now come on!" Maytak walked away while waving at the beggar to follow her. The beggar followed with a shaking head.
The main area led to a circular room that had four hallways leading to different sections of the museum. The room had a very large statue made of a gleaming alien material in the middle. It showed off a realistic, greatly overly-sized sculpture of a black virus standing victoriously with two of its four legs perched on a rock and holding a flag of the Virus Empire. Maytak and the beggar immediately noticed the gigantic statue and walked up to read the plaque that labeled it. In the gold-colored plaque, the phrase "In Honor of the Grand and Heroic General Vyrokk" was engraved.
Maytak read to herself with great interest. The beggar stood next to her with an unknown look under the hood. Maytak's attention gradually shifted to the beggar when she could've sworn that she noticed, from the corner of her eye, a drip of water fall to the ground from inside the hood and he breathed a little harder than normal.
Maytak stared with attentive and curious eyes as the beggar examined the statue.
Once the beggar was satisfied, he looked back at the plaque and said something with a shaky and choked-up voice that startled the viruses around him.
"Bastard."
Viruses stared at him with even more disgust than usual. Even Maytak was shocked by the beggar's comment. Eventually, the crowd that emerged at the mention of a sole word backed away while looking at him, whispering to each other and covering their children's ears.
The beggar jerked his head from the plaque to the signs above each hallway. From left to right, he read each destination: "The Enemies", "The Places", "The Heroes", "Gift Shop".
"I'm sure a couple of those signs aren't labeled correctly..." the beggar whispered to himself in that odd voice. Maytak caught some of what he said, which brought her attention on to the beggar even more.
The beggar looked back at Maytak. His odd, sad voice was changing back to the normal one.
"Come on. Follow me."
The beggar hurriedly scuffed his feet to the hallway under the "The Enemies" sign. The path was straight as an arrow, only shifting slightly to avoid any viruses that he might bump into. Maytak still wore a sense of shock back at the statue. A combination of instinct and curiousity urged her to follow.
