Ok, I would necessarily call this a lag, but it's close to it. It's not shakey, the movement is very smooth.
but whenever I move, I start moving in other directions. It eventually stops if I stop moving. But It starts up again. And when I do stop, I keep moving for a while.
I really want to get rid of this, so please someone help!

Check your controller's connection. You might need a new one.
If you're playing on a PC, do the same for your keyboard.

It happens when my mom uploads pictures to myspace, we use the same internet connection so it puts strain on it. Get a better one.

I'm using a Windows Vista, and my Mom uses a iMac. But my mom doesn't use her computer all that much.

Actually, Vista isn't anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be. I'm having more problems on our school's XPs than on my Vista-running laptop. It's just an easy target for jokes.

Same here. It's lag.
If you rapidly press A (or whatever it figures out to on a PC) then that should fix it.
It surprisingly works for me.
Reason for Editing: Whoops. This may be a bit dead but whatever.
