I have noticed that people create brawlers that aren't really meant for brawling but acts as storyline purposes such as themed threads in the Main Arena. In order to avoid newcomers from going insane with not being able to create a brawler because all their ideas are already taken, I suggest that a category should be made for these type of characters (aka Sub-Brawlers). These Brawlers don't necessarily need "powers", but can be used as a way to move along story lines if start to die. (This can really take a hellava load of brawlers off of McJesus's big ass roster) Sub-Brawlers do not need to be fully explained, just a little bit about their 3 "P's": Personality, Purpose, and Powers (abilities if any). Here is an example: Let's say you have a good idea in mind for a character but don't have any idea about powers/appearance/etc., then you can just whip up a few things into a simple figure and stick it into you Sub-Brawlers list. If later on, this Sub-Brawler develops more of a personality, then you can add him/her/it into your main roster. A few examples of already made Sub-Brawlers: Emmanual (McJesus) Johnny Castro (RobotKilla) Charlie (MVG) Jen (Purplecat) and the list goes on. If you still don't have any idea how to identify a Sub-Brawler, here is a guide to help you: Now I'm not saying that you should go out and make a huge ass load of Sub-Brawlers because you think I'm giving you guys a loop-hole. I just want newcomers to come to brawl and make a brawler without being criticized that their brawler is "Unoriginal". You can list your Sub-Brawlers in your roster but put more effort into your main brawler and just put your sub-brawlers as a side note.

TITS YEAH Now I can free up my roster a wee bit. This is different to NPCs, yeah? NPCs implies no direct ownership, this way I can keep the characters (and the assist trophy usage) :3
AWESOME

A wonderful idea. These would go in a separate section in the roster, I assume?

I thought about that, but that would dilute the sense of ownership of the sub-brawlers, and one of the mods would have to keep track of them all (something we're not terribly good at).

Sub-Brawlers are not NPCs, they are user owned and can be placed in the user's roster. For the Roster thread, for each person's name would have the categories,"Brawlers and Sub-Brawlers" if it's ok. This is just an idea, btw.

See I had the idea a while back of different 'tiers' of brawlers. Alpha Brawler, Beta Brawler, etc. There wouldn't be many tiers, just people that fight, people that don't.

Example: Grent: * Guy * Man * Person Mcjesus * Girl *Woman *Homo Like that, not too hard to keep organized.

Like that, not too hard to keep organized. You'd think that, wouldn't you? However, as mods we generally don't update that stuff very often/well if you haven't noticed. Besides, as everyone already has their would-be sub-brawlers in their rosters, it would be a cinch to copy/paste them to rearrange them into normal brawlers and sub-brawlers within the rosters. Except for McJesus.

Then the horrible realisation of him being a mod hit me like a nuke, he'd probably delete everyones posts that include a joke he doesn't get.

Ok, so here's my question.
Which of my characters do you think would be Sub-Brawlers?
