So listen up, see? Mmyeah, here is everything you need to know, see? - Grudge Match and general Brawling rules will apply here, see?

Thanks for putting that up, Monty. Glad to be able to be a part of this! *pockets obscene amount of money* Now then, the mods will be judging each match of the tournament. There will be 3 mods judging at a time, personally examining each match and deciding who exactly won based on the following categories: Humor/Brutality Picture Coherency/Storytelling Brawler's Effectiveness Artistic Effort IngenuityWe mods will discuss who was the better man, let you folks know the results, and be on to the next round. Alright, now that that's finished, break a leg and kill each other!

Okay, so I've been wanting to try out a new betting system for the longest time, so we'll start it here.
Basically, this is going to be a more like real gambling. Odds are determined by how many bets are made on each player and in what amounts. Each round will start out with 100 Brawlios in the pot. You guys will then start betting, and brawlios WILL BE REMOVED FROM YOUR ACCOUNT and added to the pot (this is to ensure you don't spend your bet in the mean time). After the round is over, the pot will be divided up between the winners based on how much they put into the pot. For example, if a 200 brawlio pot is to be divided up between a user who bet 8 brawlios and a user who bet 2 brawlios (the underdog won, or something), the first user will recieve 160 brawlios and the second will recieve 40.
Standard rounding conventions apply. I'll even magically spawn an additional brawlio or two if it comes down to it.
[EDIT] I forgot the whole betting deadlines stuff. You can bet at any time during the four-week grudging time. You can not remove your bet, but you can add to it. If you do so, be VERY CLEAR about the amount you want to be betting (say explicitly "add x brawlios to my bet" or "raise my bet to a total of x"). If there's any legitimate confusion (i.e. the majority of the mods were confused), the higher bet will stand.
If you bet more than you have, I'm tossing all your money in (with the exception of typos, although you should double-check your posts afterwards to make sure you didn't have one of these).
If you change your mind about who you think will win, you are allowed to bet on both users (but, again, no retracting bets). Note that this is not a very economically viable solution in most cases.
[ANOTHER EDIT] For those matches that have bets on both sides, I will be keeping track of pot odds. This will hopefully make your betting decisions easier.
For those of you who don't know how the pot odds work, here's an example: If the pot odds are "8:1 favoring Illidon," that means that there are 8 times as many brawlios bet on Illidon than this opponent. This means that, for every eight brawlios someone bet on Illidon, they would win one additional brawlio if he won.* Conversely, if Illidon lost, someone who bet on his opponent would win eight brawlios for every brawlio they put in.* Pretty fun, huh?
*The winnings would actually be slightly higher because the 100 B already in the pot when the match began are not factored into the pot odds.

You know your meaning would be much clearer if you explained that you were telling me about a typo (which has now been fixed).

To be clear, the finishing blow picture is you killing the other guy, right? And once both fighters did that, you guys will judge, making the winner's finishing blow picture valid? That's how it works, right?

Hey, what if someone doesn't show up?
Does his opponent automatically win?

That's how it works, right? That was my understanding, yes. Hey, what if someone doesn't show up? Does his opponent automatically win? I'd say if someone doesn't post within the 5 day limit, the other user starts their two-week finale time then. If they post, they win, otherwise... um... both ar disqualified? I really hope that doesn't happen... Alternatively, we could shorten the second user's time to five days, since they don't have to make a masterpiece. Hell, we could make it three days, even.

If the person you bet on forfeits, what happens? Do you keep your money? I just got a little worried about Ghost...

How about this: If no one has started fighting yet, and the person doesn't post for 5 days, his opponent automatically wins, and has a week for a finishing picture. This one doesn't count if the person says in advance that they won't be here for 5 days. If they have started fighting, and if the person doesn't post for 5 days, they just miss a turn and the other person can start drawing. Does that sound good?

Oh yeah, and for the 'already fighting one', 3 turn misses in a row you automatically lose.

I would find it cool that each fight had an environment, but still was in the arena, like me and Psibat, although for some reason he thinks pulling me down and being above the arena pulls me into a beach, were still in it.
Kinda like later Pokemon tournaments, a terrain would rise up.

Kinda like later Pokemon tournaments, a terrain would rise up. The Arena is based upon the Roman Colosseum, which (when it was not being used to recreate naval battles) had a sand floor, which is what Psibat was using to his advantage. As for future events... Monty says he has some ideas in mind.

How is a discussion thread not useful? I was like THIS close to suggesting it, but I guess if you wanna talk about a match, you could just do it in that thread, and for general stuff, you could use this one.
