Hey, do we have any maps that can be interacted with in some way or more than just a straight line with a nice backround?
Or at the very least, are there maps with animated backrounds?

A couple of pages back, there was a cool idea for a subway train map where you literally had to break open the roof of the train to get inside, although no one has actually started work on this map, to my knowledge.

The subway map was an Idea I had. And I stopped working on it because MVG wanted to work on it so badly, so i gave it to to him, but he forgot and now nothing happened. (I actually gave it because it was hard working on the background) Also, now that you made the whole map coding for the white void and that colorful place thing with the wierd music. I don't know if the subway map will work out anymore

The Map is big, the subway is the size of 2 White Void maps. If grent can code a sidescrolling element type thing, then the size doesn't matter.

The Map is big, the subway is the size of 2 White Void maps. If grent can code a sidescrolling element type thing, then the size doesn't matter. Well, I was thinking about this this morning, and I came up with a way that I could do this easily without changing half the engine. Here's the new requirements for a level: Levels can be any size that is at least as big as the stage (that's the technical term for the Flash window). They can scroll along the x axis (left to right), the right axis (up and down), neither, or both. When submitting a map to me, the mapmaker needs to specify in which directions the level will scroll. If the level is going to scroll, it CANNOT HAVE ANY LINES OUTSIDE OF THE PLAYABLE AREA. For example, Destructin's white void map has some lines sticking out to the left and right of the map, but that's okay because it doesn't scroll. Feel free to extend lines beyond the playable area during the actual creation of the map, but be sure to remove them before submitting the map or I will make the decision for you.

I don't like Zarth's map, it looks awful. It has it's niceness, but most of it is not good. oh well, I can't please everyone. Could you explain to me on WHAT you don't like so that I could do better next time? and yes I am aware of the clouds an the font that you guys don't like. P.S. your sewers map and the white void are pretty much the same thing. If grent can code a sidescrolling element type thing, then the size doesn't matter. So no boundary area, so if you’re flying away you cant save you self from hitting the side of the map?? I guess I could live with that. I'll have to redo the Bad Lands map again.

You can put a wall on the side of the map if you like, or you can just have people go flying off the edge.

Wait what about this, could you have the background a little bigger then the foreground so you can give the map a little give and you won’t die as soon as you hit the edge of the map? Say if we do a may similar to final destination.

It wasn't just the subway thing, the hitting people through the roof/floor was going to be a whole gameplay mechanic, but nothing really happened to that. Like lots of other things.

We really just haven't gotten around to those type of maps yet. But during the summer i'll put more of my time into this and make some of those things. the game is still in the beginnig stages, just gotta wait.

Say if we do a may similar to final destination. You won't die as soon as you hit the end of the map regardless. I'm saying the picture of the map should be exactly as big as you want it to be. Unless there are spikes on the edge or something, I'll put a kill zone around the map that you've drawn, so you can go a little off the screen and still be alive. Indeed. A couple of pages back, there was a cool idea for a subway train map where you literally had to break open the roof of the train to get inside, although no one has actually started work on this map, to my knowledge. Well, considering we've only got two working maps, I'd say there's still plenty of time to introduce that mechanic. I personally am still madly in love with the idea.

It might also be good to decide who the general bosses shall be for every character.
Since we're starting the project back up.
Also, I replace SS with Tom.

I feel meh about it, but if others agree, You'll have to do the sprites, because if nobody likes drawing zarth, imagine animating him.

It would be a better idea to give him armour.
All secret bosses must be extremly tough.

Oh, I just had an idea for an interactive backround/stage! Maybe the classing/cliche' "hellish" level, if you fall of a platform you might fall into like, lava, or something. I even made a picture. Attachments:
